Hell yes I will. Rich or not it is your money why would you leave it on the table. I saw it with my grandfather. He was well off and still working and decided not to start drawing his social security until two years after he was eligible. He ended up passing away after two checks. The man paid the max into social security for over 30 years. He left a good 50k on the table by waiting those extra years.

Not rich, but certainly comfortable, and yes... I will have paid in at the max for a very long time and will take back what is mine with no problems, assuming there's anything left to take.

SS is a joke. To many suckers and not enough givers. Once the greatest generation and boomers get done putting their greedy hands on it my generation and ones to follow will be standing with our dicks in our hands asking where did it all go

Sounds like an admission on your part that you're willing to do the same thing in the future you accuse those of doing in the present, if there is money there to be had. i.e., if there is money in the till when you reach that golden age, are you going to take your part of it?

Yes, I will take the money since I payed in. When I want to give to charity, I'll donate to the best charity(s) available, not to bad government programs.

It was never meant to be means tested social program. It was a forced retirement policy.

I'm an engineer so I'm not rich but I live a comfortable life.
Why on earth would anyone not collect their retirement money that they were forced to pay into for their entire career?
Who gets to say if someone does or does not need something? Is there some certain net worth someone is only allowed to have? What if a person didn't have a big salary but saved wisely? What if a person had a massive salary but spent all their money?
And most importantly, so since the government destroyed social security by stealing from it, why are certain people expected to bail them out?
