by comparison, prior to adding winglets, on the same leg a 767-300 would initially be burning about 8500/side, winglets dropped that down about 2000/hr. init. burn
Amazing.

The 777 burns less than the 72 did.

How the hell do you remember that? I couldn't for the life of me remember the fuel burn for it. I was just guessing.

I've enjoyed this thread, best of luck to all of you baws, now I've got a couple of chores to do, and this sounds like a happy bedtime story for an FE, going outside to get my chainsaw, get up on a ladder and trim a few trees, and have a Shiner whilst doing it

So this doesn't happen anymore? That's how most of my buds got on with the majors, and how I got hired by the carrier I flew for years ago.

Nope. I had a buddy request a Chief pilot meet and greet for me in IAH a year ago, he told us they’re a waste of time and not worth the pain in the arse. HR has completely taken over, the only carrier that still have somewhat of a good ol’ boy system is fedex but I think they can only trigger 1 interview recommendation every few years. The only strategy that seems to work is go to as many job fairs as possible and rack up LORs.
