OT pilots. Career question regarding regional airlines.

So I'm going back to flying after being out of it for 18 years. This is the best pilot job market of my lifetime.
Have my 1st Class medical, 4700 TT, 2900 PIC, and 1200 turbojet SIC Part 121.
There are 2 carriers I'm talking to about a direct entry captain, and a couple others as an FO. The 2 DEC offers have $45k signing bonuses and the others have bonuses from $7.5k to $22.5k.
The 2 DEC are Envoy and CommutAir. Others are Mesa, SkyWest and ExpressJet.
Republic has classes filled for the rest of the year.
I need that 1000 hours turbojet PIC and am willing to suffer for a few years commuting to get it. I live in Lafayette so IAH, DFW and ATL are direct flights from here and the easiest commute, but I'll do what I have to do.
Any advice on which to pursue?

Whichever one has flowthrough to a major would be my pick.

Formal Education?
2900 is SE or ME?
Recency?
Any big checkride failures or accidents?

I can only speak to Express Jet, having left there just over a year ago. Things have changed there since I left, so my gouge is a little dated. Reserve time was pushing two years and upgrade was a distant dream. If you’re looking to get time quick, it may not be the place. I got <200 hours in 8 months of flying there(I was there for about 15 months, but took some mil leave). Got bounced around between bases a lot too. I’ve heard some of the direct captain hires are more like direct to reserves to sit, so that’s something to be mindful of. Lots of current info here if you haven’t already been to APC.

Also, do you have an ATP?

Of the two, definitely Envoy. Although they have a very large pilot group, the flow can’t be beat.
Piedmont and PSA are also pretty good companies to work for. I know you’re looking for a 1-leg commute, but with Envoy you’ll most likely be LGA based right out the gate. Piedmont, you’ll get CLT and PSA probably somewhere dumb like CVG.
I wouldn’t consider anyone else besides maybe Endeavor or Republic.

I flew a Skywest regional from Denver to Jackson Hole. I wish they would have given me a ratchet and screwdriver. I thought it was going to fall apart..

What’s a career path for a commercial pilot look like for a civilian? What’s a typical work schedule and pay?

1. Get all your ratings through multi engine.
2. Become a flight instructor to get to 1500 hours(unless you have a degree from an accredited aviation university then you only need 1000). I’m iffy on the details there.
3. Get hired by a regional airline getting treated like a $2 whore and hope the majors call your name as soon as possible.
Schedule is like 3-5 days on / 2-4 days off.
I’m not an airline pilot so my info could be a bit wrong but I think it’s pretty close.

Depends on whether it is 121,135, or part 91.
You need 1,500 hours TT(some of it multi engine) to get an ATP for regionals, mainline, most cargo, etc. most folks go get a commercial and then go instruct, tow banners, etc. to get the 1500 hours. To be competitive for a major, you need 1,000 PIC at a minimum. 4 year degree is a a requirement for most majors now. Join Women in Aviation, OBAP, or National Gay Pilots Assoc.
In today’s climate I think you could go from 0 to a major airline in 7 years, maybe even sooner if the retirements really pick up.

if you meet the mins required, go for the brass ring, it's not mandatory that you go through the regionals, and I would avoid the flow through with the demand being what it is, put yourself out there and let the airline decide, believe me, once you meet the minimums they don't care if you been flying the space shuttle(and we have a couple of former shuttle guys,) or a Beech 18, and we have some of those and everything in between
