Nice! I got hired there at one point and declined because they didn’t have an Atlanta base and ExpressJet did. I fricked that up. Seems like a good company and has a guaranteed interview at DAL after x amount of time.

Or so prideful to take their medicine and do what’s needed to get hired. Several Navy bro’s got staff gigs and lost their recency. Several of us were lucky to get “passed over” for staff work and got picked up quickly after we got out. The staff guys lost several 100, if not 1,000 numbers, with the “well I flew (insert military aircraft), they should call me.”
Tried to explain they needed recency and after a year they go to various flying jobs that were “below them” and within 6 months they all got interviews.

Not sure what your goal is, but living in domicile is marvelous. I can’t imagine ever commuting again. I commuted for about 2 years because I lived next to my reserve base. Finally, dumped the reserve job and moved. Been in domicile about 4 years. Never knew I could have so much time off and make so much extra money.

yep, seen a lot of that dumbassery, had a lot of O-4, O-5, O-6, even some O-7s as FEs for me when I was a 30 year old 72 CA, heard a lot of, "I wasn't going to take a pay cut," or "I didn't want to be an FE" me: okay, I'll do it then, a lot of those guys are either retired or got stuck being >25 year FOs or stuck being junior DOM CAs when it was stagnant while I've been a widebody, senior widebody INT CA for pushing 30 years, snooze you lose

If you are on the fence, go for it. Give it a fair shot. You can always give up a line number. You will NEVER be able to get back that seniority.

I'm in LFT, house almost paid for, wife has a good job that she can get full retirement from in 5 years, all our family is here, and our parents are up in age. I can't move, so I'll sacrifice and commute. Lots of direct flights from LFT to IAH and DFW id I can hold them.

yes, for all check airmen and instructors, line guys coming back for recurrent start getting it at the end of this month, full stalls too
