Sometime last year, my 7 year old told me he would occasionally see a green ghost floating beside his bed. I shrugged it off but kind of got freaked out when he insisted that he was telling the truth. He got scared one night and climbed in my bed and woke me up. He said it had followed him down and had been floating by MY bed. But it had left. Man, I just didn't bring it up again. we moved about 5 months ago and I brought it up the other day. Kind of joking to see if I could get him to say it was a ruse, I said "remember when you thought you saw that ghost" and he was still Adamant that it was real. But never an episode here so I hope it was just an over active imagination.

Me too. It sort of reads like the first page of a reddit nosleep or creepypasta.

That's what you think. You seriously think that you possibly voicing certain beliefs without realizing it or without knowing that she hears you is a less likely explanation than the supernatural?

This is what kills me about these threads. Perfectly reasonable explanations are treated with disdain, but a supernatural justification is viewed as entirely more logical and reasonable. It just makes me a little.

Maybe not, but it definitely seems like the most logical explanation.

When is she "playing" with this so called ghost?

If you have a house alarm and are certain no one is entering your home without your knowledge, I'm sure she simply has a vivid imagination. Otherwise, I have heard of people sneaking in to family's homes to "play" with children.

One day she asked her daughter who she was playing with, and her daughter said, "Grandpa!". So she asked her daughter to describe him, and she did describe him down to the detail.

My parents say I did the same thing when I was young. I don't remember any of it. My grandfather died 3 months before I was born, and all I saw of him were pictures. But my parents said I described him in ways you can't get from pictures.

Scruffy isn't sure if this has been said already, but at that age, it isn't abnormal to have imaginary friends.

I'm a pastor that walked through some of that stuff with Big Ed. I'll let him tell the rest of the story but, in my experiences over the years, these things are at times very real. Sometimes they're obviously just the result of over-active imaginations fueled by fear and movies. Other, more rare times, they're not. In the 27 years or so I've been in ministry I've probably dealt with what I'd call legitimate spiritual/demonic manifestations to the degree the OP is talking about- maybe 3-5 times. I'm not saying more is not out there, but I'm not one to go looking for it. That's just what I've personally helped people in.

I'm not saying there needs to be a supernatural explanation. Her imagination is just flooring me ATM.
I want to hear what else she says, what's going on in her mind.

Lord knows that sometimes the lines between reality and fantasy get blurred.

I find that when the discussion of spirits comes up in a diverse group, there is always at least one person who recounts a firsthand experience. The spirit is usually a close relative and the stories I've heard have always been pleasant and soothing (not evil like in the movies).

My mother died in December. She was bedridden, barely able to lift her head. Then one morning she pops up, eyes wide open and begins talking/ crying to her deceased dad, her deceased brother and her deceased best friend from high school. I, my wife and sister saw it all. I was boxed out, so I pulled out my laptop and took dictation. Her side of conversation lasted about 3-5 minutes.

A dozen hours earlier I told her that my sons and granddaughters were coming in from out of state over the next 3 days to see her. She told her Dad and relatives that "I can't come with you now. You'll have to wait, I'm going to see my boys and the babies." She'd never met the youngest granddaughter, her namesake.

That week everyone visited. After they all left, she died.

Two months earlier she had surgery at Oschner Main Campus, New Orleans; same hospital her Dad lived in the last year of his life. That evening I'm leaving the connected hotel, walking the hall alone. He comes to me ... "I'm ready for your mom (calls her by name). You've have had her long enough. It's my turn" .. says a couple of other things. BTW, I didn't 'see' him or 'hear' him, but the feeling and consciousness of his presence was overwhelming. I did not know him (he died when I was 3), but I knew immediately who it was.

Spirits exist. There is the "other side." However, before you panic about your daughter, you may want to find out who it is. Might just be a grandparent or great grandparent that wants to visit.

Fat Man,

Thanks for posting. That's a crazy story. My wife has a similar experience.

While not the intended purpose, I think this is a profound statement about how precious life really is. If I were gone today, my daughter would not know me, though I've seen her every day of her life, minus just a handful.
