I haven't worn a pair of Nike Shox since HS but the Outlet near me has them for a great price and I need a new pair of gym shoes. I don't see too many people rockin the Nike Shox these days. What's some OT opinions of them?

Nike Shox make you seem like you're just trying too hard to be athletic. Just get Free Runs or something

Decent for what they are designed to do which is aide in running. But for other things they are terribly uncomfortable.

how does one do squats or deadlifts in shox? I'd be scared to roll an ankle

agreed. if youre going to be lifting with them, id see if the outlet has any nike metcons instead. theyll serve you better for weights than the shox will.

The Shox 2:40 have been my favorite running shoes of all time. I can't find them anywhere or a similar style anymore, otherwise, I'd probably buy them.

Because I liked them and couldn't find that model, I bought a pair of r4. I do not find them as comfortable, and they are much heavier than they felt when I tried them on in the store. I probably wouldn't buy them again.

But if I could find a pair that were basically air mesh with a "slip on/no tongue/sock-like" upper, I'd probably buy 5-10 pairs and never own a different workout shoe.

Best pair of running shoes I've ever owned. Never had an issue with shin splints or sore feet after.

Should look for something with a flatter sole, as others have pointed out I don't think they would be too stable.

I don't think they sell them in stores anymore. The only places I have seen them the past few years is in the build your own section on Nike's website, or outlets.

They were always too heavy in my opinion. I like a lighter show that I can run with as well as do heavy lifting. Shox did last longest of any shoe I ever owned. Had a pair that went for a year as a primary shoe and then another year as a yard shoe before the rubber detached at the bottom.
