The battery powered from Cub Cadet has a few issues.
It is a fun unit, for small residential lawn it ok, but has a few draw backs if bought from someone that keeps it outside for long periods.
Not a bad unit if and if you buy off the crate that just came in or from someone that stores inside.

1) Alot of service centers did not take the class to certify on the unit.
Some dealers and service centers did take the course and it not that hard to diagnose, but you need the computer.
Not hard to take apart to get to the battery or anything.
There is a process may take 10 minutes or less.
Hardest part is figuring out the code to see if it is the VCM, drive motor, spindle motor, or batteries.

2) Service center has to get the computer from their distributor on loan to diagnose the system. It can take up to a week to get the computer.

3) Problem they are not suppose to be stored outside for long periods.
they are water resistant not water proof.
They do have deutsch connections and so tight to be water resistant.
No room to put dielectric grease. I asked and the response was it would pop the
wires out of the connection as they are tight.

Guess what the genius at Home Depot do?
If someone has an orange vest and they try to sell you something that is not idiot
proof and needs assembling run.
They also did not charge them up as they were too busy drooling as usual as trying
to figure out how to screw them up like everything else they do.

4) They are not suppose to be pushed over a long span.
It send back a charge to the battery and hurts the BCM that protects the battery.

5) lose the charger as again it a person in an orange vest that does not care that probably threw it away. The moto should be that we can F*ck up anything, We can do it.

How it works.
- has lithium battery and 8 year warranty.

30" similar body as the traditional 30" gas units.
- Under the seat of 30" is 1 battery with BCM.
- has electric motor for drive and electric motor for the spindle no belts.
- VCM the computer which is where they key console is.
- Remember keep the charge hatch closed.
- running time 1.5 hours
- charges fairly fast.
- NOT A BAD UNIT FOR A SMALL YARD AND IF AGAIN IF NOT LEFT OUTSIDE FOR A LONG PERIOD AND THE BATTERY IS CHARGED. THINK ABOUT THIS IF YOU BUY FROM HOMEDEPOT.

42" rider electric similar or same frame as the XT1 enduro gas units.
- 2. batteries and claim it can cut up to or close to 2 acres.
- easier to me to get to.
- has BCM on the battery and connects to VCM on the key panel.
- Again 2 motors for the spindle and electric motor for the gear.
- Not a bad unit and should do up to an acre of 2 of a residential (residential lawn).
- Make sure the battery charger door is closed or the unit will not operate it is a safety feature on all of them.

I sold a few to people that did not want to deal with gas.
They really have not seen one come back from a dealer.
If you keep them charged and keep them out of the weather they are actually pretty good.

Get the snapper if your going to get a riding one for a yard that small.

The things have a really good history of being super dependable.

My grandad was a Snapper dealer, and we always had one growing up. They are not really "Snapper" anymore, have you had the same experience recently? I haven't owned one in 15 years, and the one I had was literally the one I got handed down from my grandad, lol. My nephew took it apart to build a hovercraft. Don't ask.

No, I can't say I have. So you may want to research that. My yard is too big for one.

I would definitely not go electric.

I noticed yesterday that my neighbor, who had a Ryobi push mower AND a Ryobi riding mower, was mowing with a blue electric mower, I assume a Kobalt. I will ask him what's up with the change. I know he mentioned last year that buying a new battery was like buying ink for a printer, it's cheaper to just buy a new one.

I have a 60" Bad Boy ZT (Kohler gas) for going on 7 years. It handles 3-1/2 acres (around trees) in under 2 hours easily. Never had to put a wrench on him save for routine maintenance...

I know someone with a cub cadet and they love it. If you want a Deere though go to sunshine. Not Home Depot

I have one of those Kobalt battery mowers.

They are pretty maintenance free, and it takes about 2-3 batteries to cut the entire yard.

That is why I was warming to the purchase of an battery riding mower. I saw the price last year and passed on the high price, but the clearance price puts them on the same level as a ICE mower.

As far as the Kobalt push mower, at first, I had just one 4 AH battery that came with the unit, but then I needed a chainsaw so I bought the companion Kobalt and then instantly had 2 batteries and 2 chargers. Then, I caught the leaf blower on sale and added a third battery.

Since there is less shade in my yard since I don’t have shade anymore, I wanted something to beat the heat. I also have a space to park it under.

If you live in the Baton Rouge area go to K&D hardware for your riding lawnmower choice. Homeless Depot and Lowe's are the worst place to purchase these things from.
K&D services what they sell and they have parts.

Battery powered riding mower ? My grass in Louisiana laughs at that. I could probably make two(2) passes and it would need a recharging.
How long does it take to charge up one of these things?

Snapper is a good mower. My dad owned two of them. I tried getting his last one running again after being idle for over 5 years. Got it running but didn't connect the governor correctly and it fell off while mowing. Less than 1 minute of over revving resulted in a thrown rod.
Ended up buying a John Deere S 100. Happy with it so far.

a battery powered riding lawn mower? frick that.
my 46" gas cub cadet gets bogged down sometimes once my weed and feed starts kicking in and the grass gets thick.

and you can't store this shite outside? putting it inside a non air conditioned shed doesn't mean "inside" either i would assume if we are talking about all this electronic stuff crapping out. The heat and humidity is what is likely getting to it, and a shed doesn't stop that.

Sounds like electric sucks. My dad has a cub cadet. It was the biggest one that was not in the commercial line. He has been mowing 4 acres with it for about 15 years. Zero problems. He may have just gotten lucky, but I would go with a gas.

I converted my mower, edger, weedeater, and blower, all to EGO.

The batteries they make now are so far advanced from just a few years ago. I have 2 batteries, one always a charger. I can do my entire yard, using one battery for everything. The mower is as powerful as my gas powered one prior. Super quiet. Mulches really well.

I never have to mix or mess with gas. Best decision I ever made. I highly recommend, unless you have a huge piece of property you're dealing with.

Get a Hustler Raptor 42 inch zero turn from Gautreaux. They are the largest Hustler dealer in Louisiana. Great service. Never buy a zero turn at a big box store
