I would never under any circumstances treat with a chiropractor. They are not medical professionals and can do more harm than good.

Also, to the OP, it sounds like you have radiculopathy that may be radiating from your neck. You should go see an orthopedist instead of a fake doctor. Just my 2 cents.

Go to a physical therapist, not a chiropractor

I don't know why some people call them quacks.

Becuase for starters,,,,Chiropractic care was founded Daniel David Palmer, a magnetic healer who claimed the technique was revealed to him by a ghost. After "adjusting" a janitor’s spine to "cure" his deafness, Palmer believed he could treat 95% of diseases by aligning vertebrae, which he called the "Law of the Nerve.

When your doctorate doesn't come from a credential medical school, that says a lot.

That said, some people seemed to have been helped by them.

There's a good reason plaintiff attys use them so much in personal injury liability accidents. Most all have contracts with these attys, "deals" made for medical charges.

I briefly dated one, so yes…

She boasted how the majority of the profession is a money grab through maximizing billing, unneeded tests, and weeks of treatment to “stabilize the spine”.

She’s is now a “Doctor “ despite never writing a thesis, going to medical school and also have unlimited opportunities to pass the board exam.

Grace Family Chiropractic is legit in Prairieville. I used to have shooting pain down my arm and repeatedly pulled hamstrings before they treated me.

They are not doctors and mostly work on the power of suggestion which is why they wear white coats.

It’s literally a scam

Good ones understand the body and can help.

Playing full court basketball for 30 years can cause aches and pains that a family doctor can't help with other than pushing pills. I prefer an adjustment and rehab exercises to more pills. My chiro includes rehab exercises. Adjustments alone do not get to root causes.

My ex wife worked at one, years ago and what you said is very true. I actually laughed a little while reading because I've seen that first hand.

But I will say the one I seen in the office helped me, with my neck.

Yes. I have a bulging disc. Neurosurgeon said it was bad and I needed the surgery. I went to a chiropractor and about 6 weeks in had no pain. That was 12 years ago. I've had to go back a couple times but still pain free.

My wife at the time had the same issue and opted for surgery. I don't remember her ever stopping the pain meds. I think she's been back under the knife a couple times since on the same issue.

Although I think a chiropractor is basically a physical therapist that cracks your bones, I also believe many doctors are too quick to start cutting on you, believe that is the way to fix your issue.

Both can be scammy and a money grab.

Contrary to what personal injury attorneys say, your body does heal. With exercise, therapy, and time, you can get better. Obviously you still have a bulging disc but you can manage and live with it and that’s better than getting surgery.

My visits sped up my need for neck surgery. When I told my chiropractor I was going to see neurosurgeon he got angry and told me a neurosurgeon ruined his mother’s life with an unnecessary back surgery. I walked out and never considered going back.
I may be in the minority, but the adjustments he made were made without proper X-rays being taken and no knowledge of what was really happening.
Frick that guy.

Absolutely, personally I would try anything and everything before having spine surgery, I do think they have a place.

Same sort of deal but mine came on gradually until I could barely lift my right arm above my waist. MD's wanted to cut on me. I tried a chiropractor as an option. It took a few visits to get it right but 20 years later no issues at all and like before it all began. Most of the visits were heat therapy and massages, only a few were adjustments.
