I have a Mack truck we use around the farm and I can’t get it to shift from low to high range while driving anymore.

Any clue what this might be?

Could be a transmission issue.

Little squirt like you probably isn’t tall enough to mash the clutch pedal

You need a two stick Mack with a window in the back

I’m 6’6 and you don’t use the clutch when shifting gears on a big rig except when starting off

R model?

Probably the aux transmission linkage sticking together. Get under there and pry it apart.

In that case there's absolutely nothing wrong with the truck, she'll last forever. Driver error.

Check the air line between shifter and tranny.

Actually it’s a RD model. But I dunno why it refused to switch like I said after about 30 minutes of idling it started working again but it had plenty air pressure built up when it wasnt working

R models with 5 and 6 speed Maxitorques don't have high and low range. I drive a 68 R600 at work and my dad has a 87 R700 both 5 speeds. I'm not coordinated enuf to drive a 2 stick 6 speed. I assume if it has high and low range it's got a Roadranger type rangefinder which does shift by air.

Open petcock on air tank and see if any white oil sludge is in there. Over the years oil will get carried up the lines and can make selector switch stick.
