You shouldn't be benefitting from an accident, you should be made whole. Nothing more and nothing less.

So you are advising him to go put up a 2500 retainer to possibly prove his wife did not cause the accident?
I'm simply advising him to seek legal counsel.

Not all of us would be considered such a bad risk where obtaining competent counsel for this type of issue would require immediate payment of a $2,500 retainer.

Immediate or not, a lawyer is not going to take an accident without injuries on, without an hourly fee, is it worth running up the meter when you auto insurance is going to investigate anyway?

Why don't you take a seat for a while. You clearly don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Seems I know more than most in this thread, if the op is looking for a payday then he needs to follow the advice of the ambulance chasers, if not please tell me what running to a lawyer is going to do, and how much it is going to cost?

This is singularly your own opinion.

And you are wrong.

Punitive damages...

driver ONE was DUI on a suspended license from a previous DUI.

driver TWO was speeding & changing lanes rapidly while texting. Hit me at a red light.

I didn't benefit from an accident, I benefitted from negligence.

He's laughing at you because you are offering incorrect advice without even displaying a base understanding of how this works.

No injuries, and not looking for a payday, can anyone tell me why getting an attorney is a good idea in this situation?

So after you repeatedly say that it's not worth it, you can't even give me a list of the POSSIBLE benefits?

You should shut up and quit giving people stupid advice.

And there are more than a few lawyers posting concise advice. It's likely they'll never see this guy as a client, so what benefit do you think they reap from this?
