Kid is almost 17 and ex filed for an increase. I mailed in pay stubs etc to the state a few months back. Court is 4 hours away and the paper says if I don't show they will make a judgement anyway. Is there any reason for me to attend or skip this? Louisiana btw

What? I actually over pay and get 2 refunds each month. It's retarded.

No pics. We split up 14 years ago. This is just for an increase. I have been paying for 14 years.

blargh

i hate dealing with support through the state. if you're not contesting it y'all should have agreed to it and submitted the judgment already

*ETA: not legal advice i just hate the inefficiency of dealing with the state. it should be easier

Lol. I'm not talking about trying to get out of paying. I'm just wondering if it while change anything if I don't go.

They should just plug numbers into formula. I wouldn't worry about going unless my attorney told me to go.

There is no agreeing with her and I do not want to pay an attorney when I have 1 year left until it ends.

because she has the state as her attorney and has no real financial stake in behaving efficiently

*ETA: it's going to be determined through a formula and SHOULD be an easy assessment

They should use the formula, but get ready to get fricked.

What a bitch...asking for an increase at this point. The child support system is completely screwed up. And women demand equality.

She's trying to get as much possible before it ends.

Is your kid not going to college? Even community college keeps the checks going.

1. Encourage kid to get a job. (You might try, "Hey, let's try an experiment.")

2. Take kid's paychecks and pay kid's own child support with it.

3. ???

4. Profit! (wife)
