The water is perfect 9 months out of the year. You need a wet suit for the other 3 but it's still tolerable if you're active in the water. I miss it but it's just too expensive living that close to the beach in SoCal. My wife wants to go back to Cali but I'm not going unless we can justify the beach life again. I have no desire to live in any other areas of L.A.

I do too. Me and two friends would go body surfing every day at 3pm for our afternoon activities. Then we'd go drink at the Hermosa pier and gain more calories than we burned off.

Living there while running my business from home it was like being on vacation every day.

My wife loves the OC but we're going to move to Vegas for the heck of it for a year or two. We're house shopping now actually.

Vegas is going to be our second home so we can leave if the Summer isn't tolerable. We're keeping a place in Louisiana which isn't much better but at least it's not desert heat. We can also AirBNB something in Cali for a few months if need be.

Downtown sucks but there are some great areas and towns around the South Bay.

I went to Santa Monica for the 4th of July way back in 2008 and one step in was all it took for me to turn around.

Yes. You think SoCo beaches are better than gulf beaches? Not even close. I will take St George Island all day.

These morons think Grand Isle represents the gulf.

The Florida panhandle has better water temps, color, clarity etc. The sand is way whiter, too.

I went to half Moon Bay, CA in June and it was too cold to go in the water. No thanks.
