I'm in no way blaming the kayaker, but there is no way I would be out on a crowded lake in a kayak on a Holiday weekend... There's enough idiots on the lake on a regular Sunday, throw in a Holiday weekend and it really brings out the people that have no idea what they are doing.

Boat collisions happen all the time, people are distracted and dumb. It could be as innocent as a wake, though. A surf boat going past could easily throw a wake that they wanted to jump, and on the other side was kayaker.
I live by Lake Lanier, and I refuse to take the boat out on it, it is full of drunk assholes and even worse... drunk assholes that don't know how to handle a boat, and even worse... a shite frick ton of boat rentals.
