Bison calf is different, some, the parents won't ever have anything to do with, if they can smell human on them. But this Bear could of been moved 100 miles away, into a national park, etc If it dies, because it cannot forage, then it died in nature.
I mean I'm with you in theory. It just doesn't work though. Animals are smart as hell. Once they've figured out that it's a hell of a lot easier to eat people food than to work for their own, they're always going to come back. And all it takes is for some dumbass on vacation with their Braedyn who then decides to slap a bear and now he's missing his jaw. No one wants to deal with the aftermath of that, so this is their response.

Why punish the bear for simply taking what is being given to him?

Letting something which has become dependent on human food starve to death over a period of weeks isn't "dying in nature."

If they're that smart wouldn't they be able to figure out there aren't humans around and they need to fend for themselves?

What the frick does killing the bear do? For agents who work in the outdoors, they fricking suck at it.

Black bears usually aren't too mean,
There's been two deaths by black bear in Ak the last few years. Think both were in 2016.
Feeding them is a sure way to get yourself killed. Th S lady in Ouray, Co found out

Those idiots would have already been scattered in neat little piles on the trail.

I can't even use my dumpster. They'll flip it like it was made of paper. Every night.

quote:How can a fictional character give non-fictional characters tangible things?
God gave us animals to take care of them.
How about putting down the people who feed the animals and that will solve the problem a lot quicker than putting down an animal for doing its most basic instinct, in eating. This country has retards at every position of power so it seems.

Why not try and relocate him
It doesn't matter. Once the bear is fed by humans, it is over.

Why not try and relocate him, say, 100 miles away. He then has to forage or dies naturally.
