Multiple hotels and restaurants are choosing to close down for weekend even though they would be packed.

A festival related to a drink that no one buys?

Never heard of this.

Googled and the images show that it is a spirited convention of non-tippers.

There's a rash of scheduled "remodelings" in the area.

Yeah, packed with cultcha....

This thing is going to be a disaster for the area, but luckily most of these ghetto events will be held in other areas of Jax than the beach.

It is going to be an absolute clusterfrick. Whoever approved this is a fricking buffoon.

There is nothing to approve, or it would have been denied. It an an "informal beach gathering" that gets promoted on social media. They don't pull permits because obviously, they would get denied. Here is what last year's event resulted in on Tybee Island in Georgia:

Must be tossing all that trash on the beach while they take the morning jog.

Lots of joggers.

That’s how the beach would look in Fourchon after a weekend from the locals.

Businesses and residents need to band together and tell these sorts of people that they aren’t welcome and won’t be served.

It’s not about color, it’s about behavior.
What person in their right mind would want this nonsense.

Let them do it in Jackson, or Detroit, or some other shithole they’ve ruined.

They make it so decent people and families can’t go, they make like hell for everyone else.

Their money isn’t worth the headache

Kinda looks like those pics of the Heinz Field parking lot after a Kenny Chesney concert.
