Opium addicted parrots destroying poppy fields for Indian farmers.

"One poppy flower gives around 20-25 grams of opium. But a large group of parrots feed on these plants around 30-40 times a day and some even fly away with poppy pods, thereby reducing the produce.

Really sad that they waste opium on parrots when we have so many hurting people that need that medicine here

Is there nothing else that must be done to the sap before it'll do the deed? Ive seen pics or vids of slits along the sides and sap drain/hardening. Will tht straight up do a fella I mean parrot right?
