Opinions on the Honda Ridgeline?

They seem to get a bad rap around here, but after doing some research, they look to be very solid vehicles. I’m going to have a truck because I need to haul stuff in the bed from time to time. I never use for heavy towing or take them off road. I was considering a Ford Maverick, but they’ve already pre-sold every 2022 that they’re going to make, and I’m not waiting another 6-8 months just to order one. Anyone have/had a Ridgeline or know someone who has and shared their opinion?

My brother had one, loved it. Dang thing was indestructible.

They are great little trucks. A friend has one and uses the bed maybe once a month. Good for what they are but leave you’re man card at the dealer when you pick it up.

If you want a car that can haul a light washing machine, it's all yours.

Probably would satisfy the needs of 95% of truck drivers but we don't want to be associated with Zima drinkers either.

I had a neighbor who bought one, 2016 or 2017 I think. He had lots of trouble with it, which surprises me given Honda's reliability overall, but he traded it for a newer one, I think 2019 and it's been fine.

Honda's are known for tranny problems.

That shite is water off a duck’s back, brother. Just looking for some honest opinions on the vehicle from the OT.

This gets asked so much here, I’d swear they were built in Stuttgart.

It's a car with a bed.
Great for light use and light towing if that is what you need.
Honda's V6 with VCM (variable cylinders) is still a problem. If you do get a Honda with this technology immediately delete it with a harness (about $100).

For 98% of truck owners, that is all that is needed.
