Yeah. I really liked her as a person. She was actually the first person beside my wife and I to hold our oldest daughter. She had a thing for me. She 100% prefers white guys. It was a surprise to me. We kept in touch for a little while and then she disappeared. A web search showed she'd lost her license and was living in a trailer in West Virginia. Apparently psych issues that revealed themselves later. Last I heard, she's clean and living and training in Florida.

Risks of contamination. Not too close to face. Not below operating surface.

As someone who has no clue at all what goes on in surgery, what's the deal with hands not being able to rest by your sides?
Have a circulation nurse to wipe sweat, scratch itches, adjust glasses, tie scrubs if they get loose etc. Can rest hands on operating surface as well, and eyes NEVER leave the field. Need the scalpel? Put hand out, palm up and the tech will place it promptly and perfectly in your hand.

This story is from 2018. The practitioner was a dermatologist (not a board-certified surgeon). Patient underwent liposuction in an unaccredited facility; she suffered cardiac arrest during the procedure due to lack of emergency equipment was left with permanent brain damage.
It doesn't make it less horrible, but I think this should be highlighted. The internet loves taking old stories and making them appear as current.

There’s no way anyone who acts that way is competent in their profession.

Not what I was anticipating
I was expecting the surgeon was dancing and had a brain injury, not the patient

I think she did as well at some point prior to the video. That or she's just a natural born dumbass.

I wonder how a dermatologist would cause a brain injury?

Thomas was diagnosed with bipolar disorder by April 2012.[25][26] In November 2015, it was reported that she was living in a bed bug-infested trailer in the Appalachian Mountains with her fiancé who was struggling with anger and alcohol issues. Thomas stated that she was "broke", having lost most of her savings through her two divorces and failed medical practice, and had lost custody of her son when he was 13.
Damn

I hate it. We were friends. She often ate with the wife and I and hung out on call as others were very standoffish and jealous of her. I really felt sorry for her. Lots of jealousy and she probably didn't deserve the spot, but her husband was a former Razorback and very influential. It's not like she was the only one that got that treatment.

What is it about them and frickin rap.music? Just the other day I was in line at Walgreens and dude had his earbuds in rapping the whole thing out loud doing all the hand movements and swaying and waving no no no to an invisible person and the whole store is just staring at him afraid to say a word. Gangster rap has led millions of young people down the wrong path. I hate it.
