Coinbase is teasing a major upgrade to digital collecting bringing the experience of ripping Pokémon packs directly to your phone, while every digital pull is backed by a real physical card.

I was at the BX on barksdale Saturday morning and there were roughly 30-40 people in line near the toy section for some pokeman thing… nearly all adults

Curious if opening it has a delay so they can have the pack at the ready. In theory, Coinbase shouldn’t actually know what cards are in their “inventory” if you will because it’s a closed pack

This has to be a massive scam to get “pack ripper” addicts.
With Pokemon cards unless you are really lucky you will not get any real short term return. Pokemon is more about holding long term. There are no massive hitters like sports cards.
They will make arse tons of money selling “online packs” and then buy singles to give to people. Which if you want a card you can just go on eBay and buy the single and save tons of money instead of trying to chase.
On top of that I would be extremely wary of online packs being tuned to the actual hit rate of real packs.
With Pokemon cards unless you are really lucky you will not get any real short term return. Pokemon is more about holding long term. There are no massive hitters like sports cards.

My buddy actually did the back end to a lot of this and it crosses platforms into many other things, stocks, sports, etc.
