Dear Stupid frick Who Wrote This Letter,
Eat a dick. Why do you refuse to address the real problems? Every conversation I have with people like you going like this:
You: Police kill black people.
Me: Actually the number of black people killed by police makes up something like 0.04% of blacks who are murdered. 90% of blacks who are murdered are murdered by other blacks. Why do you feel the need to ignore the real problems? If you want to reduce the interactions black people have with police then why not work on lowering the crime rate in these areas?

using the same year this guy did (2013):
a total of 5,723 people were murdered in the US.
2,755 killed by white people (total white pop = 195 million)
2,698 killed by black people (total black pop = 38 million)
if white people committed murders (regardless of victims race) at the same rate as black people, the USS would have had over 195,000 murders that year.
that's 90,000 more deaths than Vietnam, Korea, Pakistan, and both Iraq wars COMBINED.

I didn't bother to check these numbers for accuracy. Provided they are correct it would further explain why whites don't trust blacks. Since 35%+ of all major crimes are committed by 13% of the population somebody must be the victims of the rest of those numbers. Murder is included in that 35%+. Somewhere between 40 and 50 black offenders depending on who you believe.
That being the case I think OP info may be right. You whiteys need to quit obsessing on black on black crime. You need to worry more about black people killing yo white craka arse.

Urban centers

For the crime of “shooting”—defined as firing a bullet that hits someone—a black was 98.4 times more likely than a white to be arrested, and a Hispanic was 23.6 times more likely.
If New York City were all white, the murder rate would drop by 91 percent, the robbery rate by 81 percent, and the shootings rate by 97 percent.
In an all-white Chicago, murder would decline 90 percent, rape by 81 percent, and robbery by 90 percent.

”What is "rates of violence"? That seems vague.
It is intentionally vague and frankly misleading in this context. That number is how many victims of violent crime per 1,000 people that fit the demographic. For every 1,000 poor urban whites, 56.4 can be expected to experience a violent crime. It comes from the BJS Victimization report, not a report on the offenders, which is the focus of his letter.

The problem that keeping race in the forefront of the discourse (thanks BLM
) is that it ignores more cogent factors. To wit: what social strata are these black people who commit so much crime hailing from? How can we solve those issues? Are other minorities and whites in similar situations finding the same propensity to resort to criminal behavior? Is recidivist behavior encouraged or discouraged? Etc.
Making false blanket statements (i.e., black people endure rampant racism from white cops) invites turnabout along the exact same lines.
Nothing is accomplished.
Everyone is mad.
No one is paying attention to the actual underlying problems because we're too busy trying to rack and stack by melanin levels.

I'm not suggesting these ratio are completely irrelevant, but there were 14,196 murders in 2013. They only produce information on ones that are solved basically.
