Yep.

I just recently bought a Ruger LCP Max. Holds 10+1 and fits in my pocket perfectly.

Conceal carry for me. You can’t open carry in many places. I carry my gun everywhere except to government buildings, the airport and surgery centers.

You’re not deterring any crime by open carrying.

About the Links :

They all failed at maintaining a reactionary gap, and Weapon retention.
They should not be in possession of a handgun.

Pumping gas, subject approaches carrying a map. “ ah, excuse me sir, can you tell me how to get to ……”

I don’t think so. A ploy to get closer.
6 foot reactionary gap.

This is how I feel as well. When I lived in AZ it was extremely common to see OC and I can't say it ever bothered me. I've open carried once very briefly and it felt really weird the whole time.

I'm not a cop and not trying to do anything but protect myself. If I decide to open carry and someone decides to "shoot me first" or "take my gun", then that is something for me to worry about.

You do you, nobody is going to shoot me or take anything from my holster. I personally think more people should open carry.

Disagree. It depends on the situation though.

And Police open carry fwiw. Do they deter
Crime?

I think we can say for certain that conceal carry doesn’t deter any crime.

I just don’t know that it’s always worth the trouble to go through the government required process to obtain the conceal carry permit.

Open carry in public is for posers. Hunting, Range, etc...I can see open carry. No need to do it in public unless you just want attention. Better to not let anyone know you are carrying so as not to make yourself a target. You would be the first to go in an incident. You prolly wear a big Glock shirt as well to advertise you are carrying.

Seems to me that anyone wanting trouble is going to think twice.

Or they've marked you as the first target.

How and what you carry is considerably less important than how much time you spend training with your chosen instrument.

99% of people including military and LE do not train anywhere close enough. Chances are you're not in the 1%.

Or they spotted me and decided to play nice since they know I have a firearm. Perhaps they don't see me at all and pistol is ready if I need it. I can come up with as many imaginary scenarios as you can but each situation is different and you're just what ifing to make your case.

So anyone who isn't in the 1% of trained shooters shouldn't carry at all ?

To each his own. I open carry depending on the gun and situation/location. Some pistols/revolvers just aren't meant for concealed carry.

When I'm in a public setting, I prefer to carry concealed and not draw attention from anyone. But I'm glad we have the option.

Open carry designates you as an immediate threat for both Police and bad guys. I don't see any good reason to be the clear and present.

On a related note, HB 131, which authorizes concealed carry without a permit ("constitutional carry") passed the Louisiana House yesterday by a vote of 70-29.

Eh, that's not really true. A lot of the people that I've seen open carrying are older people. It makes sense for them to OC because it's easier for them to get to. Again, it's not for me, but I really don't mind people that OC.

We have permitless CC in GA now. I still see plenty of knuckleheads openly carrying though.

My goodness, why does people exercising their legal right upset you ? Make your own choice and leave others to make their own.
