Hadn’t seen a thread on this.

Seems like a clear OT subject.

I got a concealed carry permit decades ago and find it to be a waste of money and a perversion of our 2nd amendment right to carry a gun any damn way i / we want.

I’ve been carrying open now for a few weeks and find it to be liberating. I don’t strap it to my forehead or otherwise make it obvious but just tuck it into the holster on the belt. It’s obvious but not overt.

Seems to me that anyone wanting trouble is going to think twice.

Here’s the deal. I’m a fairly sizable account but not going to intimidate many wanting to get into a tussle. The sight of a Glock politely tucked on my side might make a thug think again. As I age, I find it less interesting to hide what could cause you to regret offending me.

So, after 15 years of carrying a sidearm in my pocket, I’m all about the open expression of my right to carry a fire arm.

What can be the argument FOR concealing the firearm?

Open carry has to be the stupiest things to do since putting one of those blue stripe American flags on the back of your truck.

Good for you being out the closet though.

I dont know man. My forearms are pretty beastly. If I don't cover them up people might freak out.

LA should have constitutional carry already. Stop electing retards that don't support it.

If you conceal the forearm it is easier to hide your open container, just an observation.

However, if you are dating a woman with some stout upper arm strength, let her carry the keg in the open

So people don't know how much I jack off each day?

....on a more serious note, why in the hell would you allow anyone to know you're carrying?

Agreed. Only cucks support concealed carry laws.

Need to repeal all of them.

We have open and concealed carry in Ohio now without permit. When taking a concealed carry course for a permit before the most recent law change, the instructors strongly recommended not to open carry. The risk is someone in a Walmart, Meier, or wherever calls in a 911 with your description carrying a gun. Police respond. They are nervous. Guns drawn. Mistakes happen. Keep it concealed.

I am a concealed carry guy; why would you want to let the bad guy know who shoot first?

It's amazing to me that people don't realize that the people shooting up our streets don't give a shite about our laws to begin with.

We could allow all law abiding citizens to carry tomorrow and I don't think we'd see any meaningful difference in crime.

It doesn’t get in the way of your belt clip for your phone?

No different than the maskers. I totally support both. Carry if you want, some crazy person may pop out. Not likely but possible. Wear a mask if you want. May run in to a real disease it stops. Not likely.

I don't OC but I don't have any problem with it

My only objection is with the clowns who "OC" an AR to Starbucks and get the cops called and the place evacuated just so they can lecture the local PD about being within their rights. Thankfully I haven't heard of these attention seekers nearly as much in recent years.

I live in a constitutional carry state that is very, very white.

I've seen exactly two baws here OCing. Both were black, wearing Stetsons, big belt buckles, and cowboy boots. Was awesome.

Permits are still valuable for traveling to different states. It's very easy to check who gives reciprocity to your home state permit. It's more difficult and potentially error prone to know how a different state may treat non-residents whether they are permitted in their home state or not.
