I don't really like carrying in an IWB holster. I do occasionally and I don't have a big gut but it's just not comfortable to me.

One reason I like the little Ruger LCP I have is it'll fit in a shorts cell phone pocket. Another reason I keep a few pairs of cargo shorts around too

Mr Biglego flex if you must I have no issue. We, I assume are both pro 2nd A. We just have a different opinion on how a criminal thinks.

My younger brother was born with a skin disease. Kids are mean AF. I have punched a lot of young men in the mouth when they were telling me how it was going to go down. <-- That is concealed "badassery," as an old man I have the same practice conceal who you are and what you're capable of until it really matters.

Best of success to you and all your endeavors.

The risk is someone in a Walmart, Meier, or wherever calls in a 911 with your description carrying a gun. Police respond. They are nervous. Guns drawn. Mistakes happen. Keep it concealed.

Not my fricking problem that cops get scared. If more people were familiar around guns, less people would be scared and less bad things would happen.

I have never, ever, once, in 57 years, ever heard of this happening to anyone.

A quick google search yielded this. There’s more but this is as much as I felt like copying and pasting.

https://www.fox2detroit.com/video/903067.amp

https://wreg.com/news/local/suspect-steals-gun-from-mans-pocket-at-exxon-police-say/amp/

This guy lost his life over it

https://ohio.concealedcarry.com/2022/09/21/open-carry-fail-criminal-takes-gun-from-man-columbus/

https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/man-open-carrying-in-alabama-walmart-has-gun-snatched-and-a-shot-fired-at-him/

They are rare occurrences, but open carry is rare compared to concealed carry. I bet if you broke down the statistics of incidents like this compared to the number of people who open carry, it wouldn’t be all that rare statistically.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply OC was better than CC. I just have an issue with people who think they always need to carry - "just in case". Generally it seems they're pretty much just wanna be tough guys.

I don’t know why you’re lecturing me here. I don’t open carry, and i already said that. Hell, I usually don’t even conceal carry.

That’s fine. My opinion on criminals comes from firsthand interactions with them in the legal profession. I’ve known plenty murderers, drug dealers, and thieves.

It’s easy to carry but I found my buddy’s to be miserable to shoot. My long fingers had trouble gripping it right and that .380 was snappy. My 44 magnum is more enjoyable!
But that’s just me.

I like carrying a snubnose although that long heavy trigger is hard to get used to.

I have pretty big hands but I'm used to it. I find that I carry it most often just due to its size. It's certainly not my favorite pistol.

I have two favorites for carrying concealed out of my handgun collection. The Colt 1911 .45 ACP, loaded with 200 Gr jacketed hollow points and The Walther PPK .380 with, at this time .80 Gr FMG, soon to be replaced with Fed hydro shock hollow points. I like the Ruger speed six with my own loads of .357 Mag with Hornady XTP .140 Gr jacketed hollow points. Unfortunately, the Ruger, being a revolver, is harder to conceal. It can be done, just somewhat harder and I don't like shoulder holsters all that much.

My favorite pistol that I currently own is a HK VP9 but it's certainly not ideal size for carrying.

Open carry creates its own set of problems that concealed carry doesn’t.

Constitutional carry in Texas, but I still have a license to carry for reciprocity in other states. I do not open carry. I conceal carry daily.

Extremely unlikely scenario in my day to day life.

The whole concealed carry rigamarole that the government puts you through is annoying af and I’m just not certain that it’s worth it for my situation.

Most times I don’t even carry. When I’m out in the boat, I’ve been wearing a pistol in my belt. I have it in case I need to shoot a snake, fish, or if I get in some challenge out on the water for whatever reason. Maybe a pirate…. Then I go into marina store with it. No big deal.

I have other situations where I like to carry and frankly, having it exposed could be advantageous. I’m getting older which brings some vulnerabilities and I’m not opposed to showing armory at times. Again, I’m not interested in stealing an AR around my chest. Just having my pistol slightly visible.

There’s a few situations where concealing the gun would be okay but I just don’t want to have to submit to the government requirements for the limited times that I want to conceal

I see the value of both.

I think it’s ridiculous that you have to pay to obtain a license in order to exercise your rights.

On the other hand I’d prefer no one know I’m armed.
