I like Venice but it was pretty crowded when we were there because of Mardi Gras
I only went in Summer because we were traveling elsewhere nearby and figured we'd check the box. I've heard from others that Summer is the worst time to go.
And it was hot and humid like a Louisiana swamp when I went. And I hate that weather

they did drain them and clean it up a few years ago, I guess they do that periodically, I was there last month and they were as clear as I've seen them and actually looked very nice
Yeah I read somewhere that aquatic wildlife has actually returned for the first time in a very long time.
Maybe one day I'll give it another shot in another season

You think that is more significant than spending 2 weeks traveling around Europe or something like that? You're in Orlando. To each their own, but that is wild people would prioritize a few days at a theme park in Orlando over some seriously awesome international travel.
Ah yes.
The ole your 4 year old would rather fly 11 hours to go to the louvre argument.
Compelling.

With young kids? 100% and it's really not debatable.

Kids don't give a frick. Disney adults are a different thing, but no kid is picking Europe over Disney World

I'd give it another chance when it's not a holiday or too hot, I really like the place, great restaurants, but what I enjoy doing is cooking there, we stay at the same condo when we go(AirBnB,) and it's got a full kitchen, there's a seafood and farmers market nearby that brings in fresh seafood every morning and I don't know where the vegetables come from but they're awesome, and of course, great pastas

I think it’s completely dependent on the situation. When we are talking Disney let’s assume kids are involved.
So I think it makes way more sense to “waste” the money on a Disney trip.
I don’t have 2 weeks to frick off halfway across the globe. My toddler would rather a 3 hour flight and not a completely fricked up sleep schedule. He doesn’t care about history or appreciates the beauty of landscapes, great food, or art.

I didn't bring my kids to the Louvre...or Paris. And we didn't do super expensive trips at all when they were 4. Really just the beach or lake houses nearby at that age.

I went 4 or 5 times as a kid.
I remember bits and pieces.
It’s not something life changing with family memories that I treasure forever or anything close to that.
Not worth it.

That’s fine. Then why critique others choices?
Just got back from a Disney trip last month with our 3 year old. We can afford it and he had an absolute blast. Taking him across the globe at that age would be a logistical nightmare.

So no trip is worth it unless you have vivid, life-changing memories? Why bother travelling with kids at all? No trip will meet that criteria,

Why would anyone want to go to Disney is beyond me.
You don’t understand why a 4 year old girl would want to meet the princesses that she reads about and has watched movies of? Or even meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy?

So you are going to knock some people with kids, particularly younger kids, spending money on Disney world over Europe but you yourself only ventured as far as Bay St Louis?

Yes. Because everyone’s main reason for going to Disney is to see the castle…

Why does Disney always get shite like this but Universal seems to be exempt from criticism?

And we take my 7yr old on a few 2-3 day trips when we get long weekends with school throughout the year. When he gets home he uses his toys to "imganineer" new rides, draws pictures of the rides he likes, creates fireworks shows with a dj laser he got for Christmas, etc.
Everything in the world isn't for everyone. It blows my mind how many people act like taking your kids to Disney is akin to dropping them off in a drug-filled hobo camp.

Not what I said.
A trip of that cost that comes with the amount of headaches and annoyances a trip to Disney comes with better be memorable
My favorite family trips that I remember most vividly and most fondly revolved around the outdoors / nature and fun activities.
Hell, you spend similar taking your family skiing, and it’s way more worth it than Disney. Your kids learn a sport in the process. Much healthier for them too.

Call me crazy but $7000 for a trip for a family of four to Disney, what is going to be one of the most significant childhood trips, is just not that much money.
How many kids do you have?
You have quickly turned into an Oweo level poster

As a parent who's done it, I don't see how it couldn't be.
