How many nights?

4 or 5, I can't remeber. We stopped in the bahamas and we stopped at castaway cay. We had one sea day. It was a ton of fun but I'd rather ride rides lol.

I spent $5k on 4 nights in Vegas, not including gambling money. People talking 2 weeks in Europe for $7K, I’d probably spend 14,000.

Yep, I feel you.

I also use trips to places like this as my chance to shop at stores we don't have in Louisiana, so that can bump the total up quite a bit.

I went with my kid and i don’t think I spend nearly that much but it can at up.

I think there is a time and place for everything. My parents are big into disney so we went as kids and now i’m taking mine. It definitely hits nostalgia notws for me.

At the same time, i plan on taking the kids to see other places too when they’re a little older. time and place for everything

Not my experience. Hot. Lines. Crowded. Everyone in my pocket all day for snacks and shite.

What you just described is my experience on cruises, but mostly because everything was already paid for and I don’t do Carnival.

I bring you back to reasons 2 and 3 people hate it:

2) They can't stop thinking of the money they spent to get there.

3) (This is most cases) They didn't do the research on how to maximize theor time and minimze their frustartions. If you don't know how to work the parks then yes, you will be in line all day and hate every minute of it.

A trip to Disney is a chore, not a vacation.

There is an efficient way to do Disney that drastically cuts down on waiting. If you just go in without a plan, it will suck.

In fairness, certainly you understand why some people would hate that this is even a thing that exists?

I'm a Type A and love an itinerary when traveling, so I get it. I mean, Disney has nothing at the end of the tunnel that makes all that planning worth it for me personally as someone without kids who doesn't watch Disney movies. But I get it.

Lots of people are not the planning type, though.

My neice and nephew swear they can make it fun and relaxing, they take their daughter 4-5 times a year. Maybe if I have grandkids eventually. The money part doesn’t bother me. I’m cheap as hell about things like clothes, my home, cars, eating at home, but on vacation not near as much. I vacation better than I live normally.

Have you been recently? Yeah, it's expensive, but doesn't seem to stop plenty of trashy looking people from dropping the cash to go.

I definbitely understand that. I tell friends that seem overwhelmed by disney to come with us and let me plan it. The biggest con of Disney World is not the price. Its that you need a PHD in Disney to make the trip efficient.

Disney is a woke plastic utopia that has lost touch with the average American family and its values, let the liberal rich and alphabet people have it. Dollywood is much more family friendly, very affordable and the area offers way more to do when not at the theme parks.

when we were in Europe last month we spent a couple of nights in Zurich, my daughter had to go to Bahnhoftstrasse, the most expensive street to shop on there, we bought three watches, a purse, and some other trinkets, I don't even pretend to try and reason why for these type of excursions anymore

yeah I get the demographic on this board doesn’t find Disney interesting. No shite. It’s not about what you like

The last time I went to disney, I was 13. I'm 36 now. I have zero interest to ever go back, but with that said, we took my then 2 year old, Elsa obsessed daughter to Disney on Ice last year and she lit up when the characters came out. I decided we had to take to see Disney World.

We are going next month with her. I don't have any desire to ride any rides, only the ones she wants to do. She keeps talking about excited she is to meet Elsa and Anna.

This is where I draw the line though. If we are going to Tokyo or Paris, we are gonna experience that country, not go to a Disney park.

In fairness, if you happen to be in Tokyo, you can visit for a significant discount based on the exchange rate alone. It's currently $1 = 157 yen.

I've known a few people that have taken advantage of visiting while there because it was everything was basically 40% cheaper. That said, none of them booked the trip to Japan just to do Disney, but was an add on to the trip.

Boy let me tell ya about the shopping you can do in DIsney World! I'm joking, I obviously get you're talking about higher end retail.
