I'm 32 and remember using AIM. And I don't think anyone else in my family other than my younger sister used it.

Man, those were the days. AIM, MySpace, and DragonBall Z after school...lmao!

Everyone forgets about us Gen Xers

Think how bad it is to be stuck between Boomers and Millennials.

No, but a lot of Boomers were on AOL before their kids. And stuck with it longer.

I have other email addresses, but I’ve had that AOL account forever (mid 90’s) and all of my friends know it. So, still the primary address I give out. Yeah, I’m old! (56)

I think it's great. My exgf is a Millennial and her dad is a boomer, watching those two go after each other is hilarious.

A boomer is someone born before 1965.
Gen X was people born to 1982, after 1982 is millennial. People born after 1995 are Zennials.

I used to really look forward to AoL sending my a HD 3.5" disk in the mail every couple weeks. They were quite handy back then.

The anticipation while a picture loaded was like a Heinz commercial.

I took “Marketing on the Internet” at LSU in the early/mid-90’s. It was their first attempt at a course dedicated to the Internet. AOL had just introduced their unlimited plans (Yahoo! was the preferred ISP before that and I think you got 5 hours of free online access per month before they started charging extra) and everyone was getting online.

I remember the teacher clicking on a link to a picture of something and he had to wait with the mouse hovering while the picture slowly loaded and be ready to nuke it if it was porn.

One of my favorite dumb memories of AIM were the away messages that your fellow emotional teens would leave up with some stupid Fall Out Boy song lyric, and we were all left to guess what they meant by putting it there.

A friend of mine got a new computer and wanted me to set AOL up for her. Within 6 months, she left her family for some random guy she met in a chat room. I felt horrible.

AIM was at its peak for us in middle school. I remember browsing "badassbuddies", or whatever the buddy icon site was, for hours trying to find a funny one.

My buddy profile was on point too.

fricking Boomers, LOL

Boomers are a generation, but it is also now a slang term used by younger people to call people old in a not so good way. So Boomer can mean a generation, but it also can mean you are just an old frick.
