I know exactly what you mean. The woman who trimmed my bangs cut them much shorter than I would have liked.

My hair was more what one would call shaggy when I was younger. Then, I spent a summer abroad during law school in which I needed a hair cut before I left, and just cba to navigate getting one in France. Spring turned to Summer, temperatures started rising, so I started sweeping my bangs out of my eyes off to the side, and when they got too long for that (combined with sweating during the day), I started brushing it back out of my eyes with my fingers. By time I made it back, it was long enough for a barber to actually do something with, and I’ve had it long ever since.

In short, it’s not going to look good at first. You have to let it grow out long enough that a professional has a bit of length to work with to unfrick it.

A lot of balding guys are going to have to Make a big decision if this keeps up
