Both sides. Republicans and Democrats are just alike in this line of thinking lol.

It should actually read” because people cant live exactly how they want on one job”

I see Uber workers getting food or Uber drivers on the road. Wearing down their own vehicles and paying for their own gas to make a few dollars per job.

They can at least claim mileage for these jobs whereas wage workers cannot.

Where is insurance $250? I have State Farm and pay less than $100.

And many of those Uber Eats drivers are driving beaters that are paid off.

Can't happen soon enough...

Old, crappy cars and chatty drivers won't be missed at all.

This is correct. People want to live above their means and then complain about their income. They want to post cool memes about how their parents paid so little for their homes but want to go to Disney 3 times a year and travel ball every weekend

I have a friend who is a true gig worker. He’s a programmer and picks up contract work for 6 months a year. The other 6 months he spends traveling the world. When he runs out of money, he picks up another contractor gig. Granted, he’s not building anything for his future, but he’s in his early thirties and I’m damn envious of the way he has it all set up.

More than likely because of previous bad decisions they made. But those are not their fault these days.

Lol, people don't want to work. And especially work hard for good money.

Lots of good paying jobs out there, lots of lazy fricks out there also

Yeah, but most people aren’t cut out to own businesses and the overwhelming majority of businesses fail within 5 years.

This is exactly true.

Take a good look at most "gig workers".
They like little to no supervision, low responsibility, and the ability to not work when they don't want to.

Good, there's a place for you, just not in any real company that would invest in you.

The extra money the Fed Gov paid out in unemployment broke a lot of low level workers.

Working for $12/hour seems futile when the government paid them over $700 a week to stay home in 2020. A lot of young people bypassed the job market.

I guess I live in an insulated world but I am amazed when I go to a restaurant for lunch during the week and see these slimeballs waiting at the pickup counter. Is it a requirement that you have to wear pajama pants and sandals to be a Doordash driver?

I get your point, but it would be equally weird to see them dressed business casual.

At least they were willing to fail. Gordon Ramsay’s first restaurant failed. Good thing he wasn’t weak minded and kept going.

I do it on the side because I have a full-time job in a high cost of living area and I feel stuck in this area and feel if I want to live comfortably I have to find multiple other revenue streams.

It sucks, but I know it's not forever.

I also find it weird how there's a small number of people who look down on Uber/Lyft/Door Dash drivers. Would y'all rather we complain and be lazy, sitting on the couch all day? I actually have a ton of respect for people who do this full time. It's mind-numbing work, but they're working their butts off to survive.
