Feel horrible for his family

Having a couple cousins who lived the same way it feels like they're never fully clean even when they're sober (if that makes sense). They're in a daily psychological battle where one slip-up could be the end of the road.

Yeah it’s brutal. We all know that. But his point remains. Stop. Or end up like this Matt or like my brother Matt.

RIP .

That was tough to read. Addiction is so destructive.

I’ve known Matt since he was in high school. Terribly sad story. I was pulling for him to be one of the ones who made it out and it looked like he was going to for awhile there.

Has a wife and a small child who is just about old enough to understand when they tell her daddy isn’t coming home.

In spite of the demons that took control of him, he did so much good in the world to help stop others from continuing down the same road."How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world." - William Shakespeare, "The Merchant of Venice"
R.I.P Matt.

That’s very sad. Wherever you are Matt, I hope you get to relive 2019 LSU Football as if it’s the first time for all of eternity.

That article was tough the read

First of all, I hate to hear this. As they say, no one should have to ever bury a child. With all the Covid BS in the news for what? a year and a half now? We don't hear much at all about the ongoing addiction problem that this country still has. It's still bad and it can happen to anyone. People you would never imagine..

As for as the article, the Advocate should really be ashamed of themselves. Not just because of this article, but this is the second article today I read from here, that linked to the Advocate and both were not written well at all.

We frick with each other so much on here that it’s sometimes hard to imagine the horrors of life hitting one of us.

Reading his story it's easy to be cold to the situation. Didn't know the deceased or even interact with him on here that I know of. The pictures hit you though then you connect with the sad story. Look at the pictures. Genuine love between he and his father, between he and his wife, between he and his new daughter. This life is a roller coaster and the extremes for some can make the ride impossible to stay on the rails. Sorry to read this and hear of it. I wish there were a way we could better help addiction.

If you have kids, teach them to stay away from mind altering substances, especially the addictive ones. Addiction and dependence, even on legal things like tobacco and alcohol ruins lives and kills people... Good people.

It's best to never drink or smoke once than take the first of a lifetime of addiction.

Mind altering substances gave me perspective I wouldn't have received any other way.

So gfy.

So many people die when they relapse because their tolerance is gone and they take way too much. It is sad.

He posted about his Dad's restaurant on the Food Board quite a few times if I recall.

This is horrible.
