It’s fricking chicken. Why are any of these chains trying to pretend like they were the first operation to sell chicken tenders?

Graves submitted the idea in a business class, unsuccessfully pitched it to investors, worked on an Alaskan fishing boat to raise his own capital, and bought and renovated the old Wolf's Bakery building. So it's unlikely he saw Layne's and did all of that within 2 years

More to the point, the infamous school report, which was a highly developed business plan that was obviously equally done for personal interest and not just a school project, was submitted before Layne’s ever opened.

If you wanna accuse him of copying anyone, it should be Guthrie’s, where he had worked prior to the submission.

You can tell by how it’s so much less successful.

My kids loved it growing up, I can take it or leave it. I thought dipping the Texas toast in the sauce was the best part.

Put some Tony’s on it first.

The chicken or the toast?

I don't have a problem putting a little Tony's on damn near anything.

Dipping the fries in the sauce is the real secret move.

After you have immediately opened the box so that they don’t get soggy from the heat condensation….

That’s no secret. It’s the main reason for extra sauce.

Guthries also invented the slow arse terrible service that got them behind times. I get ptsd thinking of all the times I went into Guthries hung over as hell and could have killed a chicken, plucked it, and fried it myself before guthries had my meal.

Chicken fingers, French fries, and toast is all you do it shouldn’t be cooked after I order it when all you are doing is serving the same thing all day long.
