Keeps the 90’s away I guess. Looks like it’s going to be all next week as well.

I'd rather 100 and sunny than 85 and rainy

We may not see the 90s in Southern LA all of May. I wonder when the last time that happened was.

ETA: ChatGPT says that the last time Lake Charles made it all of May without hitting 90 was 2015.

ChatGPT is wrong if you go by the official data from the NWS. 2017, 2020, and 2021 all failed to reach 90° in May. 2016 and 2023 both had one day that reached exactly 90°.

it’s been nice
90% of the state is still in drought conditions; BR and vicinity is the only area getting “normal” rainfall

HARD NO.. especially since summer rains are short lived, move out and leave the temp bareable

Also because the sun beating down from a high angle is worse than heat or humidity.

100 and cloudy or 100 and I'm in the shade, I'm ok.

I think this puts into context how bad our drought conditions have been the last few years. We are getting a “normal” amount of rain this year in BR, and people are acting like we are all going to drown

We've definitely hit 90 already a few times in BR.

I think most of the state is going to get this rain for the next week as well, should be good for the crops.

This type of rain is a whole lot more beneficial than the 10"+ deluge form a week or so ago. Steady moderate rain is what you need on dry ground.

Not really. That drought summer down here a few years ago, when it was 106 every day, it was tolerable in the shade. In the sun it was hot but you didn't sweat like being in a steamroom, like you do when it is 92, high humidity, and the dew point in the upper 70s-80. The humidity is the killer.

I evidently don’t know how they calculate drought. Either that or I don’t understand what it takes to get out of a drought. On MyRadar it says my area is n a moderate drought. I’ve mowed my lawn one time in May because it’s been too wet. My son has missed 4 out of 5 of his Saturday golf lessons because it’s been raining pretty hard.

The benefit is I have an excuse to not do yard work

The detriment is I can’t do yard work

Weeds are loving this weather though

May temps in 2005 & 2008 were mild, too

What does that mean come June 1?
