Look, I am not an art major and don't have any real love for art majors. I was just citing that as an example.
Setting aside multi-million dollar renovations for a second, there are very real, very visible buildings on the campus with years of deferred maintenance. Thank God that backlog has been shrinking in recent years. But this is a university with a football program as a component part, not vice versa.

Well Slippy why doesn't LSU take those Lazy River funds and use them for maintenance? More importantly, how did the original maintenance get deferred? Why didnt LSU address those needs then? why let it go to this point? Seems very wasteful to me. Perhaps the academic side should manage its money better and prioritize more efficiently, and they wouldn't be in a state of perpetual crisis. I'll donate a Dave Ramsey book to FKA. Maybe he can figure out how to live within his budget.

It's disheartening you would rather people not donate money to athletics at all if it meant them not donating money to left handed gender confused (insert marginalized ethnicity). If Queen Alexander actually cared about funds, he would've shut the frick up because hiring Jimbo was a very high yield low risk investment on the university's part. Donors can spend money as they please. Therefore you can't criticize their decisions as you please.

Every member of TAF was going to pay for that. My seat tax would definitely have gone up.
And blaming King Alexander for making a decision during the A&M game because he should have gotten Jimbo is fricking stupid too. Alleva could not get that deal done and it was gone two days prior and they had no backup plan. He stopped the shite show because that's exactly what it became. He knows he can deal with Les at a later time with probably better results and less heat on the school.
He didn't create the mess. He just stopped it like it or not before it blew up even more in their face. He allowed Les to live another day but he allowed Alleva to as well.

If you actually believe the buyout was that much then you are a dumbass. The $15M number is false because it doesn't take into account what Miles was actually being paid this year. The max was closer to $11M.
Secondly,Miles is required to make an effort to get another job. He would easily be hired by a number of programs for at least a couple million a year. This reduces the buyout amount by $6-$8M in total.
The actual amount that TAF would have had to cover is between $3-5M over 8 years.
This buyout talk was nothing more than politics and bull$hit.
