Then get you butt dyno re calibrated. The Ecoboost feels faster than any Tundra I've been in. And numbers back that up.

You pretty much can. I'm sure you'll find some technicality like "nuh uh... you can't get an SLE with the iridum under-dash lights"... but for all intents and purposes you can order out lower trim levels of Fords and Chevy/GMCs to be practically the same as higher trim levels. The point being that the domestics offer a TON of options and are highly customizable (which a lot of people LIKE, btw), which Tundras are not.

This has upsides and downsides. The upside, for Tundra, is that less options leads to less sloppy assembly. The downside, for Tundra, is that you can't have it just the way you want it/can't order one.

No, you can't. SLT opens up a lot of equipment you can't get on the lower end. I promise I know more about this than you.

You can keep repeating that, but it's still not going to be true.

Again, have you DRIVEN them both?

Because you just say "been in", which is bullshite.

I've driven them both, and Tundra is "seat of your pants" quicker and more responsive accelerating at low speed, which is most driving. The Tundra pops your neck. The EcoBoost does not. But freeway on-ramp speed (say accelerating from 45-80mph)? the 3.5 EcoBoost feels quicker. Like the Hand of God is pushing you.

Yes.

Actually, you saying the Tundra feels faster when it almost a second slower 0-30 is what's bullshite.

This just tells me that I shouldn't trust you, since the numbers so wildly disagree with your notion, as do my person observations. "seat of the pants" isn't making up for a full second 0-60. It's just not.

You realize that what you're claiming is basically impossible right? The Tundra can't be that much slower to 30, but feel so much faster. That's literally impossible.

What, aside from the 6.2 that nobody outside of the internet really gets?

This is exactly the reason I posted that your response was going to be something liek "nuh uh... you can't get an SLE with the iridum under-dash lights"... because I am sure you can come up with some doodad that nobody cares about.

You are not even arguing the main point anymore. You are just going off on a tangent. You have never refuted that Tundra offering fewer options (and ZERO real options directly to the customer) streamlines their manufacturing process, leading to fewer mistakes.

The good nav system, air conditioned seats, driver alert package. Plenty of things. I know the next thing you're going to say is well that's not really needed for a truck, so spare me.

The people that buy SLTs care about them.

Yes I am, you're the one going off on this tangent, likely because I'm destroying your "seat of the pants" argument.

So much Koolaid drinking, is there even any left?

Actually it's a common phenomenon. Watch any car show and there will probably be discussion around certain cars that feel faster than others / offer a more satisfying driving experience despite what the numbers would indicate. The Top Gear guys basically made a career out of such observations.

You're still wrong here. The Tundra doesn't feel faster, and isn't faster. Remove your bias and be objective.

Except they're referring to things like handling and sound.

I've driven a tundra to know what you're referring to in the fact that it has a very jumpy throttle and extremely short gears but I bought a Ecoboost with 3.31 gears anyway and love every bit of it.

Hard to beat 20 MPG and enough torque to not care about things like 4.3 gears to make cast iron antique of a truck and motor "feel fast"

Don't buy a Ford, and you won't need the service department.

Haha, that's a true statement. Wish someone would have given me that advice a year ago.

They may have beat the price but don't go there for service because you will be screwed. By the way, Audobon Ford (now Robinson Brothers) used to have great service. I have experienced service from multiple local Ford dealerships and Robinson is horrible. If you buy on price then go for it but I don't mind paying a little more in order to guarantee good service.

I've only had to bring my truck in for normal routine maintenance. Price won me over. If I don't like their service department, I can easily switch to the Prairieville location.

Isn't the "Prarieville location" an All Star (not Robinson Brothers) Ford? I have had good results from All Star but Robinson was so bad I quit buying Fords (and have bought 5 Fords in last 17 years) - 2 from Audubon, 1 from All Star, and 2 from Robinson. Yes, should have learned my lesson after buying 1 from Robinson but I was naive.

Yeah, Prarieville is all star and have heard nothing but the best from people regarding their service department.

So is the F-150 the best with regards to reliability, safety, price, gas mileage etc. Not worried about towing capacity.

This is kinda tricky because the F150 offers stuff that you just can't get on the other trucks. Standard AC seats on the Lariat and up. Standard remote tailgate open on the fob. Available 360 camera. Park assist. Panoramic roof. Trailer backup pro. None of the other trucks offer those features. Obviously, most are just luxuries that aren't necessary, but when you compare apples to apples, I don't think the Fords are much more expensive than their competition.

Yes, most likely. Chevy claims this crown but is very deceiving with how thy do it. If you want a stripped-down version with the nose a foot off the ground and some weak-arse gearing that'll make it seem like you are driving a brick, Chevy is the winner. But for a truck you will actually enjoy owning, Ford gets the best gas mileage.
