My daughter's school is now asking for volunteers to help move furniture.
This is at Spanish Lake Elementary.
Be back in a little while, please continue to update thread as I will be checking regularly.

Yes once manchac point falls below the elevation of Spanish lake, it will then all go back to the Amite... Amite is falling. Spanish lake is rising. Once they equalize, everything will flow back toward the Amite.

Where did you hear this? I have not heard anything from the school.

The rise on the Ridge hasn't slowed any. I noticed that 74 was covered pretty good by Oak Alley. Maybe once that water and what's behind the Ridge equalize, maybe we will see a slower rise on this end. I'm hearing back here that we are gonna get at least another 2 foot of water per Bacala (sp). Fingers Crossed.

I guess my BIG/Final question is that I am getting to
Has BF seen the end of backflow and will just start receding?

The wife has a close friend who's a teacher at Spanish Lake. She texted earlier saying water was encroaching on the school and teachers were headed there to pick up things in their classrooms...

Yes barring additional heavy rain, you've seen the last of the backflow where you are. Elevation there is around 17. So as long as the Amite falls to 17 before Spanish lake rises to 17, which it should, then you're good.

What gets me is that the water is lower on I-10, low enough to open it, yet the gages that are relatively close by are still creeping up.
It's flowing back to Alligator Bayou, but less is going back as Manchac Point drops. So by the interstate is dropping, it's just flowing to the lower ground of Alligator Bayou.

Some friends of ours live in there, they were told days ago if the prison evacuated then they should.
The women's prison evacuated so they are putting important stuff up higher and getting out

I relocated a little closer to the front of Ridge. Still keeping an eye on the place. Wishing the water away!

Manchac is definitely still flowing upstream. Just passed at airline. Hard to tell if the level has dropped since this morning.

Really appreciate your help and knowledge
Again, I still have at least 3 feet before it would start being an issue, but it's comforting to know from someone who knows all about this stuff that I'm good
When all this is over, I would like to buy you a drink.... frick it, I'll buy you a bottle of your choice

I wish I knew the answer to that. I am in springlake and have been keeping an eye on that, and paying attention to any info with U club. Unfortunately I dont know how any of this works other than just watching the numbers. Sorry weights. Maybe someone else knows the answer to that, because I am curious myself. Thanks for clarifying Juice
I am in Springlake as well. I am keeping an eye on Bayou Fountain and the lakes in our neighborhood but I think we are good.
