But the water on 74 has definitely risen since this morning.

Is there water in SL Elem?
Posted on 8/16/16 at 5:35 pm to Schmelly
From what I hear,no. It's creeping up from the back and will take water if we get the 2 feet more on Ridge they are saying.

Alligator/Manchac was 12.00' @ 5p. (.36"/hr)
Bluff Swamp was 12.05'@ 5p. (.42"/hr)
Based on these readings I wouldn't think that a breach has occurred (report earlier was before 5p).

Water still has a ways to go to get into the school.

I apologize for this if this has been already asked, but what would all of this mean for Dutchtown? I live on the other side of I-10 in Old Dutchtown. By looking at all of the water levels, etc, I feel safe (elevation ~17 ft), but I'm not sure how Alligator Bayou/Spanish Lake would impact things.

Is there any news on neighborhood on Spanish Ave, Madrid Ave?

I'm on the other side if I-10 too (73/621). Alligator Bayou/Spanish Lake would take the brunt of this. I'd think the risk for us is if it filled up south of 74 and started coming back this way from that direction and Grand Goudine Bayou on the other side of Landry.

Posted on 8/16/16 at 6:10 pm to Jason in BR LA
I'm really not worried about the house, more about the roadway getting there, but I 73 is gonna be fine, imo
