I'm on staff at 2, and they are no where near full with covid or regular patients.

In the last 2 weeks I had 3 separate patients admitted for sepsis from lower extremity wounds. 2 were recovering from covid (very mild symptoms), and 1 was positive for covid, but completely asymptotic.
Now these people check off every single box and then some which should put them at risk for dying from covid. They will be listed as covid patients, and all that goes along with that. However, basically none of their treatment was for covid.

She maybe wasn't "lying" on what she said. She certainly wasn't being truthful in the way she spoke though.
I'd imagine some of the CENLA hospitals are getting hit harder than BR or NO. Can anyone verify that?

Thst is the most discouraging part to me, and it happens everywhere.
They call a press conference. They come to the podium and give their little talk to a whole room full of reporters (or a virtual room full), and the reporters just sit there and lap it up.
I've seen interview after interview, quote after quote, that is in direct conflict to health department numbers or is in conflict to something that the person (Mayor, governor, Hospital CEO, Doctor, etc.) said as recently as the day before. No one seems willing to call them on their inaccuracies or offer follow-up questions. Hell, I've never seen an article from anyone who seems to have half a brain or the ability to analyze any of the information that is fed to them.
I'm speaking in regards to Alabama.

The last 8 years of my career has been spent selling software to automate processes that discharge patients out efficiently, and turn dirty beds quickly, to add virtual capacity and reduce overall census...WHY HAVE I MADE A CAREER OF THIS?
1) because I make money
2) because hospitals are ALWAYS running at capacity because their operational processes suck.
HOSPITALS ARE FULL... ALL THE TIME ...ALL OVER THE GREAT USofA, AND RIGHT HERE IN BR! Don't let these idiots fool you. They can offset the less sick to smaller community hospitals for Covid care and keep the sickest of the sick in the larger Medical Centers.
*The ACTUAL problem now is lack of staff because of layoffs r/t Covid. Stop the medical workers furlows and cut off their unemployment so they have to come back to work.
If OLOL and BRGH can't figure out how to create capacity with their shitty EMR knock of capacity software tell them to give me a call. Would be glad to help.

I agree with your point, but you are missing an important point. The people in hospitals three weeks from now are already baked in the cake, and that number will be far higher than it is now. If at that point the critical care capacity is near full it will be too late to stop from becoming overwhelmed in the ensuing weeks. The governor has to look ahead and prevent that. It’s part art and part science. I think he’s acting a little too soon, but I can’t blame him for being conservative about this.
The right wing conspiracists need to ask themselves, why are Trump and the Republican governors going along with this if it is indeed a Marxist conspiracy to take away our freedom permanently? Maybe it’s necessary.

I was called again for my elective surgery to happen in August. They invited me to have it earlier if I wanted.
