Louisiana has 1,182 covid patients in hospitals, per The Advocate website.

Louisiana has 262 total hospitals (56 are Government hospitals and 118 are private hospitals), per basic internet research.

That means that on average there are 4.5 covid patients per hospital.

This narrative is a blatant lie.

Stay safe.

A lot of community hospitals only have 10-20 beds

But I get your point

We had more than 1000 more people in hospitals months ago and they weren’t full then.

It’s bullshite

Yeah, even I, who usually tries to give the benefit of the doubt to these officials, heard that, tilted my head and said "what?".

That was blatant fearmongering.

I highly doubt hospitals are full, but this is not a great way to think about it. It's not like they are evenly distributing Covid patients.

They weren’t full back when there were twice as many people in the hospital?

This is why no one listens to these people.

A lot might be full but it’s not with Covid patients. It’s from the backlog of surgeries and other procedures. He conveniently left that out.

Hospitals operate at above 85% capacity constantly. It’s how they make money. And one thing these people never talk about is average turnovers rate. It doesn’t matter if the hospital is at 90% capacity if it’s a revolving door. And if it’s full of elective surgery patients and people undergoing treatment, etc...

Saying hospitals having patients in them is a bad sign is like saying we’re running out of food because restaurants are full and if we don’t empty the restaurants now there won’t be food anymore.

La is not big. If br hospitals fill up (they won’t) patients can be moved to another city.

My wife’s friend told her yesterday that her hospital is down from 4 ICUs for Covid to one.

It’s almost like government is using this “pandemic” as a blatant power grab. Go get your mask!

You don’t want to end up at some of the Louisiana hospitals.

JBE put it out there so now it’s reported as fact. No reporter challenged him on it. So it’s out there and all we can do is complain here and stay frustrated. I’m pissed baws. This is all bull shite.

56 + 118=174, not 262.

I don't disagree with your sentiment and the overall message you have. However, you should not be touting basic internet research while using horrendously bad math yourself. Be better than that.

I work in a local hospital. We have more employees out sick with covid than we have inpatients with covid. I'm at work now with not much to do!
