Why do you think they chose the date they did? The vaccine will be full FDA approved by then
Then objections by staff will carry less weight for me.
Until then...

If receiving the vaccine is vital for patient safety why is OLOL putting a deadline at 10/31? Why not vaccinate every unvaxed employee immediately? There is plenty of vaccine to go around last I heard.

They have a potential shortage of skilled healthcare professionals on a good year without a pandemic.
They apparently decided that they'd lose less productivity by enforcing the rule than by risking extended downtime for nurses and doctors. And it's highly likely that Oschner, BRG, and other groups in the region will have the same rules.

OLOL should have followed General Midcity’s example and shut down their ER.
If you have a plague of locusts coming out of NBR who consume but never pay, it is going to remain a huge problem. Unfortunately, the law changes of the mid-80s means that the ER would be a casualty of that because they aren’t allowed to turn people away.

Shut it all down!

Haven’t even started testing possible vaccine boosters on the Delta mutation yet - FDA approval this year is a pipe dream

I thought they were short on staff
Went from being heroes last year, to unemployed in 2021. And nothing about the viruses have changed.

How many vaccines that are not approved by the FDA are currently mandated by hospitals? Let's stop pretending this is asking staff to take the normal vaccines everyone takes plus the flu annually.
Let’s stop pretending EUA doesn’t involve the same clinical testing and less red tapeZ
It’s literally the kind of FDA approval conservatives have argued for for years.

I didn't think this was legal at least until the vaccines are fully approved
US District Court Judge Hughes of the Southern District of Texas says it is legal.
This was the first challenge everything before that was just speculation.

If people making or administering the drug accept liability for side effects, I can overlook FDA approval.
Forcing me to get a shot and saying “sucks to be you” if there are complications doesn’t fly.

Vaccines are commonly required to work in hospitals and have been for a very, very long time. COVID has really broken people mentally.
This isn't true really. They let everyone have exemptions.
I know people think, oh you have to get a flu shot to work at any hospital. But that isn't true.
And some of the laws placed down was that the hospital just had to provide it for free to its employees. Not mandate it for everyone.

Didn't think the FDA moved that quickly. That approval would eliminate the last real criticism I have of healthcare companies requiring that their employees get vaccinated.
People don't want to hear this, but no one is forcing those employees to work at OLOL. They can work for other employers or choose not to work if they want to avoid the vaccine.

They must have crates of cash just hanging around for them to afford all the unemployment payments they'll be responsible for

Hope they have enough staff to treat all the Medicaid patients and illegals!

Completely different use case. The BLA for both Pfizer and Moderna were filed months ago and given priority review.

FDA vetted and approved vaccines
Y'all keep throwing around the FDA approval bullshite like y'all actually know what any of that means.
Have y'all seen the shite that the FDA has approved? You do know the vitamins and supplements and infant formula people use on the daily aren't FDA approved yet it's still used. GTFO with this faux FDA approval outrage.

I don’t like it when private corporate businesses do the government’s bidding especially forcing a not fully authorized medicine on people.
