I know. I’m just sharing the extent of the relationship.
Congrats to you and your friend on learning how to read a form 990, though.

“ His kids are in the catholic system so while not free, the tuition is reasonable.”
St. Joseph’s and Catholic High are probably the second most expensive schools in BR.
And like someone else said, wining and dining prospective donors not unusual. Let’s see, spend $20,000 on suites or tickets, get millions in donations. Same reason he spends a lot at Ruth Chris. It’s run like a business. Most big Foundations are.
The guy who heads up the Baton Rouge Area Foundations made over $700,000 last year.

You are the dumbest person I've seen posting on this board in a long time. That's a pretty big accomplishment.

I have no problem with that.
If Foundation employees or OLOL employees were the users of the tickets I would

What’s the difference between that and what Funes did? If Funes was playing ball with the boosters...then using your logic he did nothing wrong
One is a legitimate expense involved in fundraising. One is stealing.
The squirrel is in the other tree. Try barking there.

I am starting to think he is just a troll. Nobody is this stupid.
It is a shame that he runs a 4.26 forty in the wrong direction.

At what point tonight will he edit his posts like last night?

Let’s see play ball with the boosters and collect millions in donations....you see anything wrong with that?

Jesus dude. Give it a rest. You jumped from the outlandish theory that Funes was diverting money from the foundation to paybLSU athletes to now bitching that a fundraising foundation spends money in order to raise much more money. The foundation has a suite or at least a group of tickets. They use those tolickets to entertain high dollar donors and cultivate them. You don’t just cold call a major donor and ask them for a million dollars. You cultivate a relationship. You take them to dinner. You take them to LSU games. While you are there with them you have the chance to tell the story of your organization and the impact their donation could make.
It’s the way major gifts are gotten all across the nation. You know the saying it takes money to make money? That’s true in fundraising as well.
Now, none of that excuses him embezzling money. But a legitimate business relationship between two organizations does not equal “stealing money from kids with cancer”.

I'm somewhat impressed with his dedication to still trolling this thread without getting banned

So where is the $700.000 from this past year?
It takes money to make money and Funes was making it rain at the OLOL foundation just sayin this organization was joined at the hip to LSU sports

Which 700,000 in particular are you asking about?
Posted on 11/12/18 at 7:32 pm to BR Tiger
The missing money where is it?
Posted on 11/12/18 at 7:42 pm to coachgeaux
We don’t know where the missing money is yet. That information has yet to be made public. We also don’t know what the amount is. We know it’s somwehere around 500K. We also don’t know over what period of time this took place. I doubt it was all over the past year.
Or maybe most of it was. Here’s a scenario for you. He bought a house which someone said needed extensive renovation. He is in an influential position in a major construction project in town. He signs the checks to the contractors. Even if he has a countersigner he is responsible for the outflow of funds. He finds a contractor on the project willing to play ball and arranged for them to pad their billing. The money in that padding is then spent by the contractor to work on Funes’s house project.
I don’t think that’s what this will turn out to be, but it’s much more plausible than the LSU players angle.

He bought and remodeled his house over 5 years ago.
Posted on 11/12/18 at 7:54 pm to Bjorn Cyborg
Oh well. Like I said/ I didn’t think that would be the case. Just a more plausible theory.
Posted on 11/12/18 at 7:55 pm to BR Tiger
So he put $500,000 into a $400,000 house? That’s your theory?...not buying it I’m stuck with the answer lies in the relationship with LSU
Posted on 11/12/18 at 8:02 pm to Bjorn Cyborg
Bjorn, you seem to know a little about this man Funes I think they call him....does he strike you as the sort of fellow that could concoct an elaborate accounting scheme that would embezzle several hundreds of thousands of dollars over a long period of time? Just asking not trying to drag you into anything yes or no
