Not an appliance, but I have my grandmother's Capehart record player. It was built in 1956. About three feet tall and works. Nothing like hearing "Licensed To Ill" on vinyl.

Ever heard anyone say "they don't make em like they used to?" Bc it's true. That's the reason old appliances still exist.
We just threw away a Kirby vaccum cleaner at my grandmas that she's had and been using since the 60s or 70s. Big hunk of metal and a quality electric motor I'm sure. Try that with any of the plastic crap now. I have one at my house that works like shite if at all..

When I moved into my house, there was a Day/Night brand furnace/air-handler (the compressor dated to the 80s, of course) and Waste King kitchen appliances. They all dated to the early 60s - they did about 35 years of service.

My deep freezer was made in March of 1984. The same year as me.

I've got a freezer out in the garage given to me by my grandmother. She said it was bought in 1969, so it's 47 yrs old and going strong.

I currently have a dishwasher, clothes washer, clothes dryer, clothes folder, and a food cooker that is 37 years old and going strong. She does a lot of other things also, so I think I'll keep her around.
