Word on the interwebz is that TSA claims they are underfunded and are allowing TSA Pre lines to deal with the overflow of the regular lines. It’s not limited to old people; they let normies in too.

The people I hate more are the ones who get in the Pre line and play dumb (or are dumb) about being in the wrong line. If you don’t know what TSA Pre is and there is a large sign that says “TSA Pre —>”, why the hell would you assume it’s where you are supposed to go?!?

What about the people who have TSA Pre who walk past the large sign that says you don’t have to take off your shoes yet they ask if they have to take off their shoes?

Which is exactly why I refuse to fly anywhere I can drive to in < 1day

I don't know, but for something that is so simple, a lot of people struggle with the whole process.

Since my wheelchair can't go through the metal detector, they have to pat me down and manually check every part of my chair. It takes about 10 mins (I have to wait a few minutes for the person checking me, to get there, then they have to slowly pat me down, including my nuts, then put my shoes on, gather on my shite, etc) so I am pretty much just watching people get scanned. For some reason, people get nervous.

All you have to do is wait in line, when you get close, put your shite in the plastic containers, sometimes they will scan you with the handheld scanner before you go into the scanner. You get scanned, get out, grab your shite from the plastic container and be on your way. Instead, there are people asking all kind of questions, getting confused over what they have to do next. I've seen people go through the whole process then just stand there, even after a few people go by and then they either realize they are finished or ask one of the TSA people if they are done.

Doubtful. I've never seen more than two failed xray attempts before they send them through the scanner.

they way to stop that is simple, you do that you are pulled out of line and put into additional screening area conducted by a different screening crew where you wait a minimum of 2 hours to have your bags and person searched along with interrogation why you felt you didnt have to follow the rules and what other rules are they trying to break, thus forcing you to miss your flight but not causing delays to non-retarded travelers

That’s a little much.

Just send em to the back of the line.

We should issue flying licenses that test on the rules of the airport. If you can’t pass you can’t fly.

Old man in front of me just tried to walk through the metal detector with about three pounds of nickels and dimes in his cargo shorts pocket.

Looks like saving those nickels and dimes years ago allows him to travel in his old age. Seems smart to me.

This is true, depends on weather and road conditions. I have been on the interstate doing 0 at times in my life because something affected me from doing at, or near, the limit. Was in Alabama about a year ago and was in a massive thunderstorm and traffic slowed to a crawl. Some idiot passed me going much faster - but probably still below the limit - and about 3 miles down the road they had flipped their car.

Here here, Perm. Old people ruin the pre-check lines. It's because they let every slapdick with money buy it without actually testing their knowledge of security screening protocols. There needs to be a test to go along with pre-check and global entry.

It’s a phenomenon I can’t explain. I have a co-worker that has a PhD from MIT. Absolutely brilliant mind, but their IQ turns into that of a 5th grader once they get to the airport.

I drove somewhere with my grandpa in the car...he is 88. We get on the interstate and he is flipping out. I said what, I'm not even speeding. I think I was just over 70mph. He tells me 70 is the damn limit, I needed to be going 55 or 60.

My grandpa was the exact opposite. He'd have bitched at me for going too slow

In defense of us old folks.

My SO and I are in our mid-70s and go through TSA-Precheck without difficulty. What can hold up the line is a millennial couple with two children - one in a stroller and one in carry-crib. Three backpacks and other shite.

Also big gripe is a person bringing their large "service dog" through security. Dogs are not trained and don't know WTF is going on.

It never ceases to amaze me at the things people bring on airplanes. Just the sheer volume of stuff is absolutely insane.

And then they stuff it into the smallest bag possible.

I rode with my father until he was 95. He had two speeds. Reverse and haul arse and you better not get in way because he would mother frick you in a heartbeat.

It’s not just old people that can’t drive. Some grandsons that are scared of grandpa.

Travel tip of the day. I flew to Europe for a month stay at different hostels. I was able to carry on everything in my cargo shirt and cargo pants. No luggage was needed which was a plus.

I'm 64, have Global Entry/TSApre, travel often usually in cargo pants, and don't get in a hurry for anybody. My demographic is large and growing, better learn to live with it.

I fly a lot and have never seen this. I’ve never ever ever seen a child in pre check. Thanks for not holding up the line, pops.

Bad for sure, but fatties are worse. There should be a weight limit for not only pre-check, but also just to fly in general. They’re always bringing a ton of food on, stinking up the plane. Plus they move slower.
