Three armed criminals broke into a home. They had words with the homeowners family member and were killed.
The police who investigated it said no charges are pending. Had the boy done something against the law he would have been charged.
You lied and blamed the killing on procurement of gadgets when it is about breaking in, armed, and getting killed for it.

The problem with using an AR for home defense is where the rounds that miss their intended target go. It would suck to kill your kid in his bedroom while shooting at intruders.
