I just came across this story today and didn't think much of it until I watched the video. There must have been more to the story because I don't know how anyone could watch this video and find her not guilty.
I suppose that the DA could have over charged?

Uhh how was she found not guilty? You don't see the guy grab anything since he's off camera, but she clearly just grabs the gun from the desk and shoots him almost immediately

Carey was ultimately arrested on one county of first-degree murder, but a jury found her not guilty of the charge.
Carey's defense attorney told News 4 that jurors said if the prosecution charged her with manslaughter, they would have found her guilty.

I'm not familiar with Oklahoma criminal law but how could lesser degrees not be included in the jury instructions?

This is very fishy. Did the DA overcharge on purpose?

That’s kind of what I imagined life in Oklahoma was like.

Yeah the article is pretty odd

The whole situation is fricked up. Can a bail bondsman revoke whenever they want? Otherwise I would run too if someone was trying to handcuff me.

How could the jury at least not convict on 2nd degree murder? What the frick? I’m not so sure that wasn’t premeditated the way she reacted. She didn’t even warn him she just shot.

1st degree murder is premeditated murder. The prosecution over charged . I'm wondering if the prosecution did that on purpose.

Safe to say we are all wondering the same.

Rest In Peace Brandon Williams

RIP Brandon Williams, oh the promise of a better life than the one you had was pulled tragically from you in a single instance by a sexist woman. Stand up men and take back the pride and promise women have stolen from you!
