If you were in the New Mexico oil patch you could drive 20 minutes in any direction and find an abandoned spool or vessel and get as many as you need...they don't haul nothing away in New Mexico....

Doubt it. Concerned about the size, not the metallurgy.

At least most of the vendors I deal with, stuff they have on hand is bar/tube stock.
Not plate steel.
