A major technological advance in the form of a tooth brush has caused this to become obsolete.

Also, free market capitalism and economies of scale have allowed for extreme affordability of such a piece of equipment.

You paid $16 for a jar of coconut oil to replace brushing your teeth. Not sure if you've actually had the chance to step back and put your eyes on that statement.

Doesn't do shite. Your body does not have "toxins" that it cannot handle itself and that you "need to get rid of". It is bullshite that idiots believe on FB.

90% of homeopathic remedies are horse shite. Save yourself the time and don't swish oil in your mouth for half an hour.

Conclusion

Oil pulling is a suggestive misnomer, implying that something bad is being pulled from the mouth (toxins and bacteria). What little scientific evidence exists shows that it is probably not as effective as standard mouth wash, and what benefit it has is likely entirely due to the mechanical act of swishing to remove particles and bacteria from teeth and gums.

There is no reason either theoretically or based upon any evidence to recommend oil pulling (which should be renamed “oil-swishing”) instead of standard modern health care with flossing, tooth-brushing, and mouth rinse. However, it does appear to be better than nothing, and might have a role in developing countries without access to modern oral care. The one caveat is that extended periods of swishing that are commonly recommended (10-20 minutes) are likely not necessary and further present a risk of lipoid pneumonia from accidentally breathing in small amounts of oil.

Oil pulling for general health or any other indication is pure pseudoscience. Detox claims are based on nothing, as are all detox claims. There is no evidence or plausible rationale to recommend oil pulling for any indication other than as a poor substitute for oral care.

Taking it one step further, it can be used as a personal lubricant with excellent results.

Oil pulling is BS. I mean lol, swishing oil in your mouth on an empty stomach is supposed to pull toxins from your body? Good lord that is idiotic.

Putting oil in a vagina is a terrible idea, unless your goal is to introduce bacteria into the vagina and also change the pH balance of the vagina, in which case it's a great idea.

I don't disagree with the gist of your statement, but there is nothing homeopathic about coconut oil.

A. Her gyno told her to do it, but I guess Hog on a Hill knows more than her Vandy MD gynecologist.

B. Its on the OUTSIDE where she shaves.

Yeast exists in that region for a reason. You aren't supposed to kill it all.

There's tons of great benefits of coconut oil.

Use it to sauté your food in. High fats like this are great for you and losing weight/staying shape. Coconut oil is great to cook with at high temperatures, unlike mang other oils that aren't good for you..

Look up all the great benefits of using coconut oil.

This place is the worst place to discuss actual healthy things.
