Oil industry asks Biden for more leasing and fewer rules to lower prices

A leading industry group is calling on the Biden administration to shift course and more aggressively support domestic oil and gas production in response to unrelentingly high energy prices.

The American Petroleum Institute sent the White House a list of 10 policies on Tuesday that it argues will encourage production and bring down costs. Topping the list is a request that the administration quickly issue a new five-year plan for the offshore oil and gas leasing program and that it reinstate canceled sales .

President Joe Biden, who promised to end drilling on federal lands during his campaign, ordered a pause on all new oil and gas leasing during his first week in office.

And he will balk at them further ensuring the GOP will regain power in the coming elections.

This administration has failed spectacularly and people are finally getting over the pearl-clutching, progressive nonsense. When reality takes hold, ideology goes out the window.

They’ll get the typical response “this transition will be difficult for all of us.”

Drilling and finding new oil is great but we dont need to pop new holes. We can open the valves and increase the flow to meet our needs.

All those gas pump stickers are right. Biden did, indeed, do that.

America hits peak energy production in about 5 years. It’ll be a slow downhill grind form there into a much less go-go-go world

Not to worry, Biden has promised to do everything in his powers to bring down gas prices, which is why he used the DPA on solar panel imports from China

Biden: Here's a tax instead.

The only good part of all of this is reminding so many people how goddamn good we have it and maybe, just maybe every social issue isn't life or death.

A few less rules from the EPA would also go a long ways.

How can someone counter the argument that production is the highest it’s ever been? Is it really? I have no idea…
