This be some buuuuuullshit right here. Damn father-rapers.

Times-Picayune

quote:

The state announced Friday that 60 residents of nursing homes and other long-term senior care facilities have died of the novel coronavirus, but in a reversal of previous practice said it would no longer publish a list of such facilities identified as clusters of the contagion.

Instead, the state Department of Health said it would begin publishing a tally of homes where there are confirmed cases, residents who had tested positive and the number who have died....

By Friday, health officials said the volume of homes made it too difficult to report the names of individual facilities.

They also said numerical updates would now only come twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, rather than daily.

Dr. Alex Billioux, assistant secretary for the state Office of Public Health, said his department decided to stop identifying nursing homes because the focus should be on elderly patients. He and his aides wouldn’t comment Friday on whether lobbying from the nursing home industry had anything to do with the move....

Great. JBE is gonna pump those numbers up by reporting less often and hoping most people don’t notice it’s not a daily tally.

That’s bullshite but nursing homes are the 2nd place contributor to JBE
Nursing homes have closed to visitors but they are still accepting new residents & have therapists coming in, a lot of the therapies are BS ordered to scam the system

After trial lawyers JBE’s biggest donors was the elderly care lobby.

Thread title is grossly misleading. My interpretation is daily reporting will only be curbed as to the number of cases in nursing homes -- those will be tallied twice a week, not the aggregate number of corona virus cases, deaths, hospitalizations, etc.

Wrong. Read the story. They are going to limit OVERALL reporting to two days a week. But you knew that already. Nice to see someone on the take trying to lie and defend the indefensible.

What does this

quote:

Louisiana has a long and complicated history with nursing homes and their powerful lobbying interests. The industry has donated generously to politicians from both parties, including former Gov. Bobby Jindal and current Gov. John Bel Edwards. The group, the Louisiana Nursing Home Association, has in the past been able to stymie attempts to reform the industry in favor of more home-based care options, which surveys show were favored by patients.

have to do with the decision to do this

quote:

They also said numerical updates would now only come twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, rather than daily.

61’homes as of Thursday had clusters per their website which of course now has removed the names of the homes.

I took it also that nursing home info would be given Monday and Wednesday with other numbers daily.

If it’s not daily then it must not be bad, right???

ETA the corona page with the general number Info still says it will be updated daily. ??

Ours is not accepting new residents — we have transfers from sister facilities as we made an isolation unit but we are NOT admitting new patients.

The Nursing Home lobby for got them. The owners don't want the individual homes tainted with the stigma of having Covid patients among their residents. So no names, just stats twice a week. This lobby is rich and powerful.

If true, the guy who wrote the story is a terrible writer, which wouldn’t be a surprise.

because JBE is lying his arse off all this time to get federal money but people arent dying, they just get sick and then get better not even needing to go to a doctor much less hospital visit

the doomsday narrative isnt being supported so stop reporting data that proves you been lying all along

They did call my mom last Wednesday (4/1) & tell my mom that there were no cases where my Grandpa is
I guess if family members call & ask they have to be truthful

Staff finally started wearing masks last weekend so I guess they figured out they were the ones bringing it in at this point

High C if they don’t report the. Umbers daily I will assume that it’s not important and really go about my business. If it’s that important they need to be transparent. Which I realize they could lie but they need to continue to give daily numbers.
