It ended up a wider spread than Pappin thought in the Tweet I shared earlier.

The Buffalo/Steeler’s game is the one that’s going to be a disaster, they’re estimating the lake effect snow in footage by kickoff.
We had one of those last year, too, with that big lake effect event. It may have even been moved, I think.

quote:The good news is temps will be back to normal in a week or two. 100 degree summer weather last year went on for months. If you prefer that over a few days of cold, God bless.
Give me 100 and swamp arse any day of the week over this shite.
Meanwhile, all the OT’ers who listened to this board rave about Montana are kicking themselves.

Mother Nature doesn’t care about our preference of too hot or cold. We just have to deal and accept it. Both have their negatives.

Foot of snow where I live on the Il/Wi border area. Temps Sunday and Monday won't reach above zero. I can't get my 20 years on the railroad soon enough and move to South Arizona.

Have about a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground today (Louisville, KY). Should get a little more tonight into tomorrow (maybe another 1/2 inch).
Forecasters are kind of are all over the place about our Sunday night through Tuesday. It’s going to be ridiculously cold but it sounds like models are going back and forth on snow impact.

Two types of drivers that cause accidents in snow:
1. The over cautious drive 10-15 mph in the right hand lane. Often Toyota owners for some reason.
2. The I have an AWD SUV/Pick Up truck with snow tires! I can go as fast as I want!!!! Often seen in Midwest ditches with just the taillights being seen high in the air.

When I lived in Louisiana there would always be people that spin outta control and end up stuck off the shoulder the few times it snowed.
Same problem up here
Saw 4-5 on my way to the office this morning

quote:almost anyone that works outside would prefer heat over brutal cold. it wears you out faster, everything is harder to do, equipment must operated and maintained differently, especially for startup, and you can't acclimate to cold. by the time July rolls around a person in the elements has acclimated to the heat; you don't acclimate to extreme cold- you just die.
How many hours a day did you spend outside last summer? TIA

Calling for 3-6 inches of snow here. Did see 2 fist fights people fighting over bread. The grocery store shelves are empty here.

Currently about 60 degrees in CS. Tomorrow's high is 32. Pipes all wrapped and faucets all covered.

I work for the railroad so I am outside for 1/2 the day. I will take heat any day over cold. High heat is uncomfortable . Cold is flat out pain.
