I am checking in as the official College Station weather reporter from my house. Not that anyone cares, and no I'm not an aggy.

I was going on a trip Sunday, but the wife did not want to leave 2 teenagers in the house alone during the polar vortex. So I am here. No matter what happens, all married baws will know she is right. Furk.

Checking in from OKC. Just now going below freezing and next time above is next Wed afternoon. Throw in some snow for good measure.

Zooming out shows an incredible temperature range across the United States today. There was a >120° difference between the highest & lowest values over the country.

Logan Pass in @GlacierNPS was a frigid -36°F, 123 degrees cooler than Miami, FL at 87°F at the same time.

For how much should I write my check to the WEF in order to raise the temperature to where it’s supposed to be?

Thanks in advance.

Or I'll take neither of the extremes and just give me spring and fall.

Got a new HVAC last spring so we'll see how the bad boy holds up to the negative windchill here. Sunday morning will have -7/-8 wind chills.

It could be worse

The world's coldest inhabited place is Oymyakon, Russia.

This area in Siberian often dips into the minus 50s and 60s °F.

Worst day here will be Tuesday. High of 17, low of 6. Then it jumps back into the 30’s. Currently under a high wind warning.

I'm seeing local news channels posting "GFS modeling" (not sure what run they are using or ensemble or what) showing Tennsippibama getting nearly 10 inches of snow

Honestly I'm all for it, hope it snows a damn foot if it's gonna be cold AF anyways

It felt like a muggy October day down in FL today, 84*F at 5pm...

I just want to varify this is “the official” Arctic Blast page. So often I post in the “other” page later to find out it wasn’t official! Frustrating!

It has snowed about 11 inches where I live since Tuesday. Sunday’s high is supposed to be -5. I’m staying inside and watching football and dare anyone to ask me to go anywhere…..
