My wife and I joked that it would be a fun couples trip and just do Epcot.

I've mentioned this to some of my friends that like Disney. A couples trip to do Epcot and Disney Springs for 4-5 days could be a really good time

1. I have never seen so many scooters with obese people on them.

If you see a rental sticker, then they are just obese. Truly handicapped have their own vehicles.

2. its your money and by all means spend as you may, but what’s with bringing babies and 1/2 year olds?

Brought all my kids when they were around 1, and went back with the grandkids at the same age. You would be simply amazed at the jump in communication and recognition skills after they return. Its like a lightbulb goes off in their head after being saturated with motion, sounds, lights, bright colors, etc for a week

I know a guy who has a timeshare at Disney, talk about a ripoff. I have only gone once and I was maybe 8 or 9. It was cool, but not anything that I just had to go back to..

Anyway, the other night a group of us were together for the Bama-LSU game and me and another friend are going to Las Vegas in July and told everyone that they were welcome to come. The timeshare dude was like "man, the only vacations we take are to Disney world. SInce I have a timeshare it doesn't make sense for us to go anywhere else because I pay ___________ a year for it, blah blah blah".

There are people who absolutely love that place and more power to them. I love going to Las Vegas and I am sure there are people who couldn't see going there once every year and a half, two years..

But to answer your question, I am sure people bring their infant because they don't want to leave them with someone for however long they will be going for and I am sure there isn't much cost involved in bringing an infant. Do you have to pay for an infant to get it? I am sure they do.. Because it is Disney world, but it is probably easier to take an infant than it is a 2 or 3 year old.

Ohhh. Rookie mistake. At least it's not 4th of July weekend when the weather can best be described as "swampass".

Definitely not a Rookie

I'll be at a Resort, off site and doing parks 3 days out of 8.

Rest will be relaxing, golf & shite.

Who the hell cares if a small child remembers his visit to Disney World? Live for the moment! If I see my child laughing and happy as hell, even though he or she is only 2 or 3 years old, you think that I'm concerned over whether they will remember it 20 years from now.
Come on people...quit being cheap or lazy and bring your little child to Disney.

Yeah I am going with a bunch of family Thanksgiving week which is also my niece’s 2nd birthday. She loves her some Disney so she is going to go ape shite. Even though she won’t remember much from it in 10 years it’s going to be a great experience for her.

Going Thanksgiving Week

Same.

Never been before, and never had the desire to go. Really not a fan of massive groups of people...standing in lines - But my in-laws are paying for the whole shebang, so frick it. Hopefully my 3.5 and 5 year old get a kick out of it.

I was already dreading it, but I've been told that Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of the year...then you guys throw in the obese mobiles. The whole experience thus far has been pretty damn exhausting. Waking up at 5:00 in the morning to book "Fast-Passes," sure makes me miss Fun Fair Park.

Happiest place on Earth, they say...

We did a couples trip for 10 days at the beginning of October. We spent 7 of the 10 days in EPCOT. We stayed at The Boardwalk so it was just a few minute walk to the International Gateway at EPCOT each day. This was our laid back, no hurry trip. We would hit the park for rope drop and usually walk back to the hotel around 1 or 2. Then come back in the afternoon/evening. It was one of the best trips that we have taken. Being at EPCOT for the 35th was very special. We are Passholders and will be back in the spring for the Flower and Garden Festival. I am slowly working on the SO to get her to agree to join RunDisney with me and start hitting the run events. They look fun.

TLDR

As with anything, you get out what you put in. The scooters can be annoying but we don't let someone else dictate our vibe.

As for drinking in MK, Skippers Cantina.

I use them as teaching moments for my kids. I was there for Halloween and when we were getting on the bus to head back after closing there was a fatass 16 year old girl with her fatass mom on scooters. Of course the driver had to lower the ramp so these wastes of oxygen could drive their fricking scooters on board and take up like 6 seats. Then the driver, who had to be like 80 years old, had to push the scooters into their spots with both of these tubs of lard and skin still sitting in them. I was like "Look at this son, that 16 year old is so lazy she's got an 80 year old man pushing her scooter around a bus because she can't even be bothered to get out of it for 10 minutes."

It's fricking infuriating but at the same time gives me a chance to teach my boys to not be worthless at life.

That sounds awesome and exactly what we want to do. We are both runners and mentioned staying at the boardwalk and doing the race and spending all day at Epcot

Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, or even the Swan or Dolphin would be ideal options for the Wine and Dine race to be close enough to EPCOT for the festival.

However, you won't be the only one and getting a room can be tough.

I cannot recommend The Boardwalk Inn highly enough. Amazing staff, super convenient to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The only times we got on a bus was in the mornings to Animal Kingdom and to Magic Kingdom. We took the monorail back from MK unless we stayed for Happily Ever After. Then we Ubered back. We had a lake view room and it was a great view each night. All of the entertainment on the Boardwalk itself, after the parks closed, was just icing on the cake.

We are now spoiled rotten.

Is the Boardwalk Inn a deluxe resort? It is on my bucket list to do a deluxe at some point but I can't justify paying THAT much money when Disney is already so expensive.

Yep, especially at boardwalk where fewer points are needed than most other DVC resorts.
